Linda?

- jimbo83

God rest her soul but my goodness was Linda atrocious. Why did Paul need to put his wife in his band? I member when Stern back in the 90s got a hold of a tape where they isolated her parts on the keyboard & backing vocals. Sounded like a wounded duck playing a child's fisher price piano.

edit^ IF I simply played that video I wouldn't have needed to post all that^

Sorry Jimbo, not my cup of tea. I know I'm probably in the minority but I just don't like em. Kind of like how I never liked Seinfeld. Although him not giving Keisha a hug was (frank)ing hilarious.

How many years have we been hearing that though? Call me naive but I could honestly give 2 (frank)s. The Rangers are always there in the playoffs despite that they are "on their way down", "window is closed", "have no talent in the farm system".. blah blah (frank)ing blah.
- mdw7413

Their prospect group has been really bad for awhile though. Which is fine, I'm not knocking them for it. It's expected when you are a perennial Cup contender, it kinda comes with the territory.

I'm just saying that I think it's fair to say Lundqvist has entered the final chapter of his career. Not saying that means he's going to be a terrible goalie from here on out, but it's time for them to start planning for life after Lundqvist.

They're going to have to develop some young talent, outside of just their first round picks. Miller and Skjei have proven to be good NHL players. Vesey/Hayes were free assets, although personally I don't think they'll ever be more than middle-6 guys, which isn't a knock on them FWIW. They lack serious depth at center and don't have any projected high-end talent in the system.

It's easy to say that "everyone always knocks the farm system" etc... because there is never any immediate, tangible results coming out of developing players. But down the line it always comes back to bite you. Rangers can rest, a little, easy on the fact that they'll always be a top destination for impact free agents, but they will have to develop some homegrown talent to compete without an all-world backstop there anymore.

Just my opinion, not ragging on the Rangers here.

I know chiefs, what I said wasn't directed at you.

I get what you are saying, but honestly to get high end talent in a draft a team is going to have to at least suck for a few years and even then its not a guarantee unless its a McDavid, Crosby, to a little lesser extent Tavares. How many times does a center who can carry a team come up at draft time?

Its not that I don't want to pick high its that I don't want the team to suck for a bunch of years in the hope that they can get a franchise player.

Almost every year there are some really fantastic picks made between picks 10 and 20. Barzal is a perfect example. Forsberg another. Karlsson. There is value to be had there without being a terrible team. There's always either a guy who slides or an opportunity to trade up.

I'm not saying they need a "franchise" player, but I do think they'd benefit heavily from having a true top line center. I think Miller is a great player but I have serious doubts that he'll ever be considered a true 1st liner in this league.

Miller has been mostly on the wing. Has played some center but AV prefers him on the wing. He is 24, so there is still time. If he could just be a bit more consistent I think he could be a 1st line winger and a pretty good one. This year will be an interesting one for him if he doesn't get traded for some defense.

Thats tough because I like songs not necessarily bands.

If I had to pick who I liked the most songs from, probably, Floyd, early Metallica, Eagles, Disturbed, Dream Theater, liked a lot of late 80's-90s metal too. I really don't have a favorite per se

I thought he played more center this year? I guess I didn't pay enough attention. My feelings on him are still the same. Good second liner because, as you pointed out, consistency has been an issue. Entirely plausible that he fixes that and does reach that 1st liner level though, I can concede that much.

I think that just strengthens my point though, they lack center depth and talent. Especially because Hayes sucks donkey balls.
