Klein and a 2018 2nd to Vegas , Vegas then selects Holden in the draft

Stepan, bag of pucks and a 2nd to Montreal for Galchenyuk

Hayes and Raanta to Calgary for Bennett, Gillies and a 2nd

I was gonna say Pirri, but really what's the difference?

Montreal needs scoring and I think Pirri would be a good fit for them

Great, then he can roast the Rangers in the playoffs. Sounds about right.

Isn't Staal's cap hit 5.7? Ironic that some are salivating over the thought of entering into a contract that we will feel exactly the same about 4 years from now.

hey, if you guaranteed me Shattenkirk's career will be hampered by an eye injury I definitely dont want him anymore

I predict the Rangers let Pirri walk, they wont give him a qualifying offer

It is, but Staal has 4 years left... big downside for Dallas
- trueblue1

What else in high value are you giving to Dallas to have them take over 4 years of Staal's remaining contract at a $5.7M cap hit per year? Even taking the higher $5.9M cap of Lehtonen with 1 year remaining on his deal will not get it done.
Also, as to another trade proposal of yours made on a separate post on this blog, trading Hayes alone will not land you Dumba from the Wild. In addition, the Wild will not trade Dumba anyway, barring possibly picking up first, or in a larger size deal, another high quality RIGHT HANDED d'man. That's due to them having only one other RH d'man signed for next season in Spurgeon.

There is no combination of pieces that is going to have Gorton make a move that ends up with a back up goalie making $4.5M. That's ludicrous, even for one year.
- Tonybere

This talk here all began with an initial poster who proposed a deal of Nash's $7.8M to Dallas for one of their 2 prior seasons' goaltenders also each having just 1 year left on their contracts. Niemi (at a $4.5M cap hit), or Lehtonen (at a $5.9M cap hit), would tie up either $13M or $14.4M in cap space respectively at just the goalie position, while Dallas anyway needs help desperately on the back line first, as opposed to up front.

Preposterous??? Not really. Again, this is under the assumption we trade or lose Raanta.. how many stories you see about teams trying to trade bad contracts? Looking at Dallas. Their GM has made statements basically saying they're a win now team. They're talking about dealing their #3 pick for a d man. They need to trade one of their goalies and I'm guessing they'd be willing to include an asset. Maybe rights to Nituchkin? My proposal was getting rid of Nash who would be a top 6 forward for stars. We get a back up goalie and assets. Yes an expensive backup, but it's only for a year. And we save some cap space. IMO, I'd rather try to sign Radulov than trade for Kovulchuk... either way, I don't see Nash being around for playoffs next year. Needs to be moved .. if not this off-season, definitely at next deadline

so if given a choice, you'd really would rather have Kari Lehtonen play 20 games for the Rangers next year than have Rick Nash play 80?

When was last time Nash played 80 games? You're missing point. My original post was us getting Julius Honka. It's not that I want one of those goalies. I'm looking at it as more Dallas might want Nash, and we'd get a good prospect for taking back one of their goalies, preferably, the cheaper one
