(frank), I'd trade Reinhart + for Hanafin before I'd even consider trading for Muzzin.

wouldn't be the first Bean(e) we got from Lina. Heyyyyyyohhhhhhh.

Smooth! I do like him too (so far at least). I think Bean will be better than Hanifin, but dont have tons to back that up. I think he is a really good skater (fast).

Agreed. Think we'll get Maclin?

I wonder if we could get the Ghost out of Philly? They think Provorov is the cat's meow and Gost was slightly better than terrible this year. I believe in Gost.

I am not sold on Gost (because I see the Myers high then never match it again), but depending on price I guess I would consider. If I remember correctly, he had a really bad stat year, last year.

2 years ago it seemed like every shot got through and he scored on a lot of them. Last year he was awful and didn't have any puck luck. He has an absolute cannon of a shot for as small as he is and can skate like the wind. He's about as ideal of a buy low candidate as you'll ever get. I'm a little worried about the Myers thing with him too, but I'd give it a shot. Probably not for Reinhart, but maybe for our 1st round pick in the draft or Nylander.

Absolutely....seems like Reinhart's (all of them) dont translate to the NHL very well. Yes, Sam had 20+ goals. That is great. I just dont see him as an elite guy.

That said..If Sam and EK9 disappear for defense...we have HUGE holes on the wings. thats 1/2 of our top 6 singers. Bailey/Baptiste etc are not ready for top 6 roles...

If Okposo is able to come back 100%, that is great, but I wouldn't count on it immediately.

I trust GMJB to do the right things and look forward to seeing what he does.

just my less than .02

Holes on the wing should be the least of anyone's concerns

Our 1-2 punch at center will make an average winger look above average

In fact, if it wasn't for playing with Eichel, there would absolutely be concerns with Sam Reinhart

you act as if trading him means they wont look to find someone else.

And call me an extreme optimist but id like to think the guy we drafted 8th overall just one year ago might still have a shot at being a top 6 forward. crazy thought i know.

Provocative suggestion on Rhino for Hanifan. I see Rhino as mirroring the Sedin twins in terms of the type of player he/they are and the output he will generate in a long NHL career. The Sedins also never got the respect that they deserve because they aren't flashy etc.

Having said that, I like Hanifan a lot. Risto and Hanifan could anchor the defense for 10-years. Good D are harder to come by vs good wingers. There is risk for both teams in this trade.

Yes, I would do that trade straight up.

We can't sign anyone to bridge the gap before Nylander is ready?

No no. We can find two top four d-man for pennies on the dollar but there's no way we can find a decent winger who can keep up with eichel. because that almost never happens every deadline, draft and off season.

I agree with the Sam part. Just saying the production from the wing would need to be replaced...obviously.

I think we have a big gap at LW with Kane

I am thinking playoffs next year, sick of watching other teams in May

There aren't enough moves that can be done in this off season to take a team that was that bad last year to playoffs the next.

I honestly thought he was going to single-handedly lose the cup for them last time they were there. He looked spooked and shaky and I'm positive Doughty brings him up a few notches and bails him out on a lot.

Honestly, If I was playing with Karlsson, Subban, Doughty type of guys, I'd look like a solid defender, too. All I would have to do is clear the zone and pass to them if I was in trouble.

what does that say about Tim Murray

not that I agree

I think it was part the D, part coaching, part goalie could not make a save in shoot out
