Chara, Krug, C.Miller, McAvoy, Carlo, McQuaid...
that's their 6 defensemen for next year
And they could have Kevan Miller as well If Vegas takes Subban

Or they can trade for Trouba like u suggest...
giving up what?
Plus, they now lose a good young defenseman in Collin Miller

No... I do not see that happening

- jdfitz77

No idea, just a hypothetical.

I look at it this way, say Justin Falk was a little better, and we would like to keep him as the 3rd D, but the only way for us to add say... Sami Vatanen was to expose Falk, they would just expose Falk to upgrade with Vatanen

Teams who want to upgrade D will do just that.

Also, it's not like Vegas is drafting 100 players, there will be decent players exposed, and just not picked by Vegas

Asplund staying in Sweden next year.

Not great. Was hoping he'd come back

I get it. If the kid is developing fine in Europe let him stay there until there is some stability in this mess of an organization.

There in no coaching leadership at any level. I think the kid is smart to continue his development in a stable environment and then maybe give it a shot next year.

When a) happens it usually means b) won't
- Sabresfan-365

Idk... if he gets "forced" to trade #8 for a defenseman...
and he ends up being a good one...
I'm totally ok with that

And that scenario seems very reasonable

im okay with it too, i just dont see it as realistic. if a really smart gm is forced into making any move, the odds are its probably not a good one.

To equate it to Buffalo is hard to do...
Collin Miller is like Guhle for them
Would u expose Guhle?
And that's on top of trading Reinhart + for Trouba

I wouldn't want to do that
And I don't think Boston will either
If there 3rd was McQuaid, then ok... makes sense. Cya

Tampa's "3rd" is also a good up & comer
They aren't gonna lose him for nothing

Detroit? Yeah, probably
But just bc a team can trade for a better 3rd,
Doesn't mean the will actually do it

A few will do what u suggest
But I don't think many will

This whole premise is so hypothetical that I have zero concern about it
Like u said,
Botterill is smart
I have faith he'll make a good move to help the defense

im sure there are plenty good moves out there. ones that can make this team a playoff team. but you dont tank to become a first round exit. I want to see this team great, and i just dont think anything is out there that will make this team great.

I think there's plenty of defensemen out there that can help us

I don't want us trading for... idk... Shea Weber...
But Brodin, Manson, Muzzin, Hanifin etc etc etc
There's plenty of guys out there I like

Sure he is, but if he is forced to make a move it's coming from Pegula...

Do we trust that he is smart when it comes to players?

I mean we dont actually know that any of those four are actually out there. The name we keep hearing for anaheim is vatanen. Havent heard anything about muzzin or hanifin and Brodin has a lot of question marks around him.

i feel bad for the next expansion team. all of the other teams are going to be much better prepared and ready facing the next expansion... unless they change the rules somehow.

The Sabres will be in trouble I fear

Eichel, Reinhart, ROR, Okposo, Kane (if he is extended) right off the bat will have to be protected

Then there's the blue line

Better hope the Sabres drafted well

Plus is sounds like Seattle's arena will be ready for a team very soon

More trouble than finishing 7th/8th in division for last 4 years and missing playoffs? Let the team get blown up who cares.

Free agent Jeremy Maclin left his Ravens visit without a contract.
Per coach John Harbaugh, Maclin had a wedding to attend. Maclin has visited the Bills and Ravens. Harbaugh said the receiver wants some time to make a decision. It's unclear if he has lined up any more visits.

Not to mention he had long discussions with Botterill as reported by Vogl, which helped him make the decision to stay. I would assume Bots encouraged him to finish in Sweden and to develop a little more in a quality organization. This is already proof that Bots will slow cook our prospects instead of throw them into the fire.

Which is great, but it will be an adjustment once he gets here.

Looks like at least 2 years before he will be in our lineup.
