Remember when Craig Button had the Flyers picking Samuel Morin at #11 and a number of people on this board lost their minds and said he was full of poop, that he was just going by the kinds of things the Flyers had done in the past and he didnt realize that things werent like that anymore around here?
- Doc_Sarcasm

Considering Holmgren was still in charge for that pick, I'm not sure why people would think we were still out of that past phase.

Quoting Bill: 'For example, a team such as the Colorado Avalanche could have the elements it would take -- a player such as Gabriel Landeskog or Matt Duchene, the 4th overall pick in 2017 and the chance for a first-round pick swap in 2018 to be an enticing option -- to make such an offer.'

Wait so I'm reading everyone right, you would not make this deal? You do understand Colorado could very well get the #1 overall next year and then have to swap?

Viladari, Landeskog or Duchene and a top 4 (most likely) in 2018

For

Hiech/Pat and a 13th-ish in 2018

I get the need for a #1 C. But don't you have a greater chance of that with this deal plus get a good young player?

- coffee junkie

The AVs finished in the bottom of the league and still didn't get a top 3 pick. Nothing is guaranteed with their pick next draft.I don't take that chance honestly.

I can't think of a Flyers draft pick who was that similar to Morin.

You think he's gonna pull a Clarkie and forget the kids name?

I see him wanting to run right up there a la the Provorov draft when Jersey left Ivan on the board.

All it does is for the millionth time confirm how spot on Ek is with the rumors. It turned out to be nothing and Patrick was in Montreal to meet with sponsors. He saw the fake news tweet and let his imagination take him and his readers away on a journey to Bullpoopville.
- Mononoke

Everyone was reporting that Patrick only interviewed with three clubs: NJ, Philly and Montreal.

Same...I think Morin will add an element that we have been lacking for sometime.

The devil was in the details. Big, physical, bit of a nasty streak, possibly limited offensive upside, throwback to the Bullies days. Those are the things that had the Iratians on the board all irate.

The rumor business is not a spot on business. If we understand where and how the rumors are generated, it's not BS.

I'm looking forward to when Morin is a defensive monster swallowing up NHL forwards and clearing the porch on the PK!

I can't wait until opening night next year when, after making the roster, he has less than 476 hits and doesn't record a Goride Howe hat trick, at which point he will be considered a bust.

As long as he doesn't take dumb penalties and fight just for the sake of fighting (and the amusement of the fanbase dullards) while he's doing that.
