Yes your right they could keep him! And agree that alot can change! I've been watching the game for 45 years(I'm old frank off!) and have never seen so much speculation surrounding this team about (trades/draft) or the league for that matter!

I think trading to acquire a really good d-man is tough. Most d-men are overvalued and many have really ugly contracts. Not sure if trading JVR - who with all his problems (lack of toughness) is still a good goal scorer in this league. Leafs - if they move him might get better value on draft day where a few teams desperate to make the playoffs like Dallas Stars and Avalanche would move the 3rd or 4th pick. Surely a better d-man could be had there than the scraps that would be offered for a JVR package.

I think that the only way he gets traded on draft day is if their's a player (draft prospect)that Hunter is totally convinced/blown away by is available! Other wise jvr will be dealt in the summer to someone who might of missed out on perhaps duchene or ebbs? Imho

Actually for a draft that's supposed to be weak, the first round and first part of the second doesn't seem to be to bad! but their going to be a few players that slip the the cracks and make some scouting departments look really stupid! and that's where I have confidence that we'll be ok! lol, I really hope Hunter and his team draft the (or one of)the steals in this draft
