I think trading to acquire a really good d-man is tough. Most d-men are overvalued and many have really ugly contracts. Not sure if trading JVR - who with all his problems (lack of toughness) is still a good goal scorer in this league. Leafs - if they move him might get better value on draft day where a few teams desperate to make the playoffs like Dallas Stars and Avalanche would move the 3rd or 4th pick. Surely a better d-man could be had there than the scraps that would be offered for a JVR package.
