Does he want to sign here? We can't talk to him until the expansion draft has s long over.

I'm alright with trading Eberle for another top 4 D. Preferably for one with 2-3 years of contract left at most.
As for Oshie , or any UFA for that matter, will we be able to sign them for less than 7 years?
Shorter deals , like Eberle's remaining term, are ideal.

- Larsson_fan

So you do agree with me? Trade Eberle for a dman. Like I keep saying

So you want a guy that can score 20 goals in the regular season and disappear in the playoffs? Good strategy for a first round exit in the coming year. I guess that's your goal so you and iggy can talk more smack about Chiarelli not getting us a cup
- Ihatebrianburke

I actually want the Oilers to win.

Here's how flawed your reasoning is:

Eberle can't score in the playoffs yet we can replace him Pullijarvii who can't score at all ?

Hold on now...apparently
Eberle sucks and has been trending that way for a long time.

- Larsson_fan

Funny how I've been saying these things about Eberle for years while you and others have said, he scores clutch goals, wait until he plays in the playoffs. Just how many did he score again? I forgot. His style of play is not meant for the playoffs.

Yes, when a rookie is forced to play over his head, that is as good as he will ever be. We should have painted Draisaitl with the same brush then as well.

He scored zero, in his first try coming off an off year. I'm not yet willing to write him off, and I have no better idea or worse idea of how his future playoffs will work out for him than you do.

Pulj scored at a lesser rate in the AHL that Ebs did in an off year in the NHL.

So how many tries do clutch goal scores like him get in your eyes? How many years can we afford to waste giving him these chances?

So we should write him off then after his first year in north america as a rookie? Yet Eberle should be given every chance to prove that he can play and compete?

Edit: you're not very good at math either

Except when it comes to games that mean something
- Ihatebrianburke

You've gotta get to the playoffs first . Those regular season games aren't important ?

Can't have one without the other

Jordan eberle is better than Justin Williams everyday of the week. Ten years ago? Maybe not. Hell maybe 5 even (eberle outscored him then too) but Williams is washed

Eberle has proven he can score consistently in the NHL at a 1st line production rate. Even in an off year he accomplished that. In his first playoff he struggled. Is that proof to you he can't score in the playoffs?

And I'm not writing anyone off, I'm just applying your concrete logic to another player as an example.

im not making any comment on puju one way or another

But eberles already proven it. Beyond any shadow of a doubt. Avg 60 pts per 82 gp for years

You're missing the point completely. Trade Eberle for a dman. Hamonic and Barrie have been rumoured. Replace him with a veteran UFA. Then also have our young guys competing for spots and providing depth. So would you rather have Eberle by himself? Or possibly a Hamonic and Williams coming into our lineup? Much like we did with Hall, and Larsson, Lucic. How right were you about that trade again?

If the Oilers are gonna split Leon and McDavid up we need a complimentary scorer on RW of Eberle's Ilk more than ever....IMO.

Easier pill to swallow would be replacing Nuge at 3C with a 2.5-3.5 million dollar center. Hell, I might pay 4 if it were Hanzal.

Yeah- I really like hanzal. And I'd make that move probably

I flip flop on a daily basis pretty much on which of those two I'd rather move. I still have these visions of nuge busting out for 60 all the while being dominant defensively. But those notions of Bergeron lite seem wholly unrealistic at this point I guess

No I'm not. Most Of us agree trading Ebs for a much needed hard to get piece is a fine move.
You're getting flack for a) clearly
Letting your hate for a player blind you to the point of b) being okay with losing him for nothing.

I have never been so in love with a player that I'm unwilling to move him to improve our team.

As much as I love Nuge, he is pathetic on the dot and makes 6 mill. He might have to go too

I don't want a gaping hole in our lineup. I want a stronger defense and someone that can play more of a 2way game than Eberle. Also, I hate Eberle.
