Last two years in all situations

Kane-

Goals- 46th
Assists - 291st
Points- 160th

This is a average 2nd line player since he's been a Sabre. You don't give long term deals for the above

ror and okposo disagree

Id have a hard time believing Kane is the same as ROR/Okposo or that they are average 2nd line guys.

Even if thats true, it doesnt change anything. That much money already committed to two average 2nd line guys means you probably shouldnt be committing to a third

kane and reinhart are the whipping boys

they put up more points even strength then ror

I am confused

if special teams don't matter much why are we moving the second and 3rd best scoring players even strength

10 plus years w/o a playoff series win

once I get a clear answer, I will move on

You're making sense to me
I'd like to keep both Sam & Kane

Ppl are WAY too worried about the Cap
Kane can fit just fine in the salary structure going forward

The problem with kane is hes a volume player. Yeah he scored a lot of even strength goals which is impressive but this is to a lesser extent the girgensons conundrum from the nolan era. Why did he score more then than he does now? Because he got hella ice time in every offensive situation.

Kane shoots at will and was given all kinds of opportunity to score and he did. The problem is at the end of the day hes still a 40 point guy who always finds a way on the shelf and has just as long of a cold streak as a hot one. This isn the guy you give a 6 or 7 year deal to.

But for me personally moving kane is just about cap. A lot of money has been committed and will be committed up front for the next several years. The blueline is a mess and will require some serious cap investment. They're not going to move ROR or Okposo and they arent going to move the 14, 15 an 16 first rounders.

same thing here between kane, okposo and ror

He gives you shot volume, thats it. And on a better team a one dimensional player like that will see far less ice time from any coach as one dimensional snipers are far more favourable to one dimensional shoot blindly at the goalies crest-ers.

Don't forget... Kane punches people in the face...

And he is healthy now. However, I found Garth Snow wanted to unload JT on us, see ya!

Moulson would (perhaps) be effective again and the last time we got the Islanders best player, it was awesome (Patty La). One thing to consider is that JT might actaullly consent to living in buffalo, something all other "big fish" FAs have failed to want to do.
