Yeah, those Patriots have never had any PR issues related to their methods of winning. - jmatchett383
And at the end of the day, none of them mattered. |

The shutdown guy scores like Schenn over his entire career and not this one cherrypicked season for the worst team in a long time. Except he's better at literally everything else than Schenn too. Landeskog is one of the better 2-way/PWF wingers in the league, and he's still very young and this season is absolutely an aberration.
He'd be a fantastic fit on this team, but Lindblom plays a similar game to him and maybe he could end up a similar player one day. Wouldn't want to spend the assets but this notion is all baloney. |

Drouin was a September cut in his first NHL camp; an immediate red flag. Pro year two, he refuses an AHL assignment and demands a trade publicly-- and two months earlier, Walsh privately requested a trade on his behalf. If that doesn't scream out maturity/character issues (or least a need for a different agent), I don't know what does. Wasn't hard to show character in Halifax when there was very little adversity to face. - bmeltzer
The agent certainly overplayed their hand, and that could have helped to perpetuate the idea of Drouin as an uppity misfit, but nothing about what still boils down to a single squabble over playing time screams irredeemable to me. |

They don't even play the same position so that's a spot on comparison |

Common Bill, I don't think those are fair comparisons.
It was known that Daigle was intoxicated by his own celebrity and Fat Balloon was allergic to exerting himself long before draft day.
I don't remember Drouin's character ever coming into question until the Cooper incident. Even then, what he did really wasn't that egregious. There have been plenty of 'character' players who weren't shy about using their leverage, many of whom are in the HOF despite hold outs, walk outs, trade demands, etc. - Tomahawk
In the context that Bill was making the comparison it's not only fair but accurate. His point is that not all players with the potential to get to the top actually make it there.

Well it doesn't take the rings off of their fingers, but they didn't keep a squeaky clean image, of whatever term you used.
By the way, what are you driving at? Are you suggesting that the Flyers should have a major self-off and purposefully lose for 4-6 years? |

I clearly just said I wouldn't trade for him, pal. Hey, I'm not the one shoveling crap that he's a "defensive" low scoring player and we don't need another because we have Couturier, which is some logic. He averages 54 points per season over 6 years, and that's including this terrible year he just had, though your memory doesn't go back further. If he's a defensive low scoring player, what's Schenn? A non entity? |

Billy! What's your take on Dove-McFalls? Is he really not worthy of a contract at this point? Does Hextall think we're that deep that he'd rather have the spot open for a better player? Would McFalls contract even count against the 50? |

Just so you know, we want instant gratification. We're tired of this waiting for prospects to develop nonsense. Trade them all and get Drouin, Landeskog, etc in here! |

Don't worry, we will have Drouin, Landeskog, Evander Kane, Jay Bouwmeester, Dustin Byfuglien, and TJ Oshie to start next season.
I just hope you guys didn't get too attached to any of Ghost, Provorov, Sanheim, Myers, Simmonds, Morin, Konecny, Sandstrom, Hart, Stolarz, or had hopes of using the #2 overall pick. |

For sure but the Pens got lucky to tank when the rewards were Mario, Crosby and Malkin. Edmonton finally got McDavid. timing is everything |

And yet the Flyers outscored the opposition over a six year period at 5 on 5 with him on the ice, in addition to all his PP points.

My BPI when he was on the ice was tops in the neighborhood over that same time period. |
