Pleaseee show me where these great defensive guys bring all this greatness to teams. We already have Couterier, I'll pass on another when we could have Drouin. Drouin was a monster in the playoffs for them, show me where Landeskog has taken over playoff series.
- ClaudeFather

Landedkog is a buy low option right now. No question in my mind who I would rather trade for (not that I even want to make a trade). And did you really just say, no defensive forward has ever aided a winning team? The list would be too long here to finish before my lunch.

As much as I hate the Pens and Patriots, I've really come to respect the Machiavellian methods these franchises use to achieve greatness. Rules are bent and conventions are breached all in the name of winning.

It's a late-stage capitalism world folks. There is no participation trophy or Nobel prize for doing things the right way. The results are either achieved or failed. Do whatever possible. There should not be some misplaced pride in following unwritten rules in order to feel worthy.

Are these cups the Pens are winning somehow less valuable due to the methods they've employed? What about the Patriots super bowl wins? I don't think so. No one cares now and no one will in the future when their legacies are etched in stone.

Why are you complaining about the Pens? What have they done?

Agreed. I'm not sure what these underhanded methods are that you're referring to. I know it's very anti-Pens bias on here, but all playoffs long, Crosby takes about 3 punches to the head a game with no call. He was even hit in the head with an overhand stick chop with no call. Same for Malkin, although he's a dirty player on his own.

The Penguins are just a damn good team.

Edit: To answer your question steelydan, Mason's a UFA now so need to find something new to complain about.

Why should that stop us from complaining about Mason?! He has about 5+ more years in the league I'm guessing.

And as the Oilers and Sabres have shown us, it's a clear path to success.

To be fair, they may prove the tanking theory right soon enough. At least the oilers

No I did not, just saying show me how he's going to make us better verse what Drouin would bring. The guy had 33 points and we already have a shut down center in Couterier. I'm saying no thanks, we already have one.

I certainly wouldnt make a blockbuster trade for Drouin.

If they want the number 2 or Provy (lol) or both of Sanheim\Meyers then I say no thanks.

If the deal could be worked in other ways then I dont see a reason to not consider it.

33 points was a career low, you're buying low on a 24 year old that plays with passion almost every night. Get him away from poor CO and into a winning atmosphere. I would trade for Droiun as well if the price was right (Hagg and 2nd at most) but would prefer, what I feel, is the more established and more complete player. He is faster and more creative then Coots IMHO BTW. Not that I want either player, the point that we have a serious jam on offence is a great addition and I would hope any trade would include Raffl or Read or Laughton or Weal.

I hear what you're saying but the intital argument was Drouin is a much superior player and I believe he is. Hagg and a second would not do it lol but I think we are good where we are with TK, Lindbolm, the #2, and some of our other prospects like Rubtsov and Voryborov (probably butchered that name)

Don't think it would get it done either which shows you how much I value Druoin. You could be trading for expensive cancer. Big risk moderate reward IMHO.

I don't think he is. Colorado have no cap issues, so there's no reason for them trade their 24 year old captain at a discount.

The spelling savant is back at it.

If we get Nolan, I'd prefer we trade for Drouin. If we get Nico, I'd prefer we trade for Landeskog. Regardless, Hagg, Filp and Vorobyov will get either done, so quit stressing.
