Surely Murray and Guentzel will be overwhelmed by catfish, awful country singers, and redneck hillbillies in Smashville.

If some of the linemates of TK would have shot at a decent % he could of had about 15-20 more points.
- Konalover

Konecny was 10th equal in 5 on 5 shooting % with Giroux.

He's not worth the reply. But yes Nashville is an awesome place. They have some great hockey fans too. Caught a game when they still had suter and Webber and the stadium rocked for all 60 minutes. Tons of fun.

I understand they are different but both are available for defense help. So if the prices are similar, I would rather those assets be used for Landeskog.
- psuhockey

Drouin is twice the player Landeskog is…Landeskog is a poor man's Toews.

I dont disagree with your analysis but this is like comparing apples to oranges in a sense. One is a PWF with an established presence in the NHL, the other is a unique cross between a Playmaker and Sniper who is just beginning to show he may be capable of reaching the potential everyone thought he could when he was drafted.

I hated his attitude with the "trade me" crap, but I agree that he's starting to look like he could be pretty dangerous.

If Landeskog brings a cup to Philly then I'll take a poor man's Toews.

Yep I hate the prima donna trade me or I'll go home crap he pulled. I'd rather get someone else off of Tampa if we are dead set on being the team to help them out of the cap hell they are in right now. TJ or Palat fine. Drouin no thanks.

Why would he bring a cup to Philly? It's not Toews....

The Flyers don't need to trade for any forwards. They need to find room on the roster for the ones they already have under contract, as RFAs, and as UFAs in the case of Weal.

In what way? Sure his offensive potential (key word) is higher but not even close to as complete a player. I don't understand the Drouin love, guy has done very little thus far and has a bad attitude!

The trade proposals in this article though....

Philadelphia could offer Valtteri Filppula and a couple prospects (let’s say Robert Hagg and Mikhail Vorobyov for the sake of argument), but again – is that enough for Washington? I’m not so sure.

I really believe that was a result of bad advice from an agent that a young kid took because of his immaturity. I think he would really benefit from an older play to mentor him as to how to behave like a professional. Gotta think SY charges stammer with that task this year upon return from injury, assuming Drouin is still in tampa that is.

Great point, only way it makes sense is if it clears some of the log jam at forward.

Have you watched him play? When you see him command the puck in the offensive zone he appears to be a one of kind talent. I will admit I am a little Bias on this topic though considering my fanhood.

Pleaseee show me where these great defensive guys bring all this greatness to teams. We already have Couterier, I'll pass on another when we could have Drouin. Drouin was a monster in the playoffs for them, show me where Landeskog has taken over playoff series.

As much as I hate the Pens and Patriots, I've really come to respect the Machiavellian methods these franchises use to achieve greatness. Rules are bent and conventions are breached all in the name of winning.

It's a late-stage capitalism world folks. There is no participation trophy or Nobel prize for doing things the right way. The results are either achieved or failed. Do whatever possible. There should not be some misplaced pride in following unwritten rules in order to feel worthy.

Are these cups the Pens are winning somehow less valuable due to the methods they've employed? What about the Patriots super bowl wins? I don't think so. No one cares now and no one will in the future when their legacies are etched in stone.

I wouldn't mind Drouin being acquired. I think the Flyers have plenty of muckers and grinders at forward already. A little more skill especially at LW would be nice. I doubt a trade happens, but there is familiarity from both clubs. They were a pretty good possession team last year, but had difficulty scoring. Maybe the system isn't the problem, just better pieces added. Thankfully, the blue line overhaul is starting.

Yes. When he has the puck the 15% of the time he's on the ice, he's really good.
