all good points. If T bay does move him, the team acquiring him has some hurdles for sure. I'm just saying I know why teams would have interest.
- landros 2

Well of course there's interest. Like I said, if the price to acquire him was low, then sure, go for it. But knowing that you'd have to part with multiple valuable assets AND THEN enter into what will likely be a tough contract negotiation...no thanks.

I agree to some extent. I called out the fact that I wouldn't trade our prospects for the reason of you don't know who will pan out to be a real top 2 and a fringe player. The larrson trade shows how much leverage a team with good young defense has in a normal maket. But thanks to the expansion it's actually a good buyers market for young defenseman. Team's need to get rid of one or be lost to Vegas. I don't see why the flyers prospects unless you think they are guaranteed to be a future top 2 would be more alluring than Minnesota or Anaheim d men. And if you do believe whole heartedly that's what said prospect would become why would we trade them ?
- Tfaehner

Exactly, I dont believe the Flyers are the proper dancing partner for this potential trade. In my mind you dont move drouin at all, the Seguin trade should be proof enough as to why not... However you cant deny that there must be some relationship between our two GMs considering the Filppula trade at the deadline. Could we interest you in Ty Johnson for Ghost perhaps

If youre willing to part with the assets to acquire him, i have to believe you are probably willing to pay him something close to what he wants.

Any trade proposal is probably prefaced by "Let us talk with him and his agent to see what his next contract looks like" when it's insane. You call Stevie Y back and laugh.

Well, you'd probably ask for permission to talk to him to discuss the extension first. But it's like paying twice to get a player, first in assets and then with the salary. Given what TB has rumored to want, I'd say no thanks.

Very true. The Coburn trade is one Tampa fans tend to forget about. After all we have TK and Gudas now thanks to yzerman i almost feel like the filp trade was like "Hey remember when I took Coburn from you ?" "Yea.." "well it's time you paid me back the favor and take filp" "say no more"

I'll take palat for ghost.

Ghost or Sanheim+ for Drouin makes sense since we already traded for an offensive dman in Buff.

Come on now Bill, now you are just adding to the rumor...Falloon and Daigle both ended up in Philly as "second chances"...and Drouin would be on his second chance if he got traded here

I think of our 3 RFAs he is the least likely to be traded. He plays with some physically (which on the lightning is sorely lacking) has a scoring aspect to his game and he plays a 2 way game. Plus organizationally we are deep at center and not quite as deep on the wing so id have to take a hard pass on this one.

Bill is too kind. Ek is absolutely full of it and there real is zero debate on the matter. I say it over and over again but I hope Bill gets his own site someday. Ek turned this place into a circus.

I hear TJ can play the wing. But I agree it's less likely you trade him for all the same reasons as to why we'd want him.

The trade proposals in this article though....

Philadelphia could offer Valtteri Filppula and a couple prospects (let’s say Robert Hagg and Mikhail Vorobyov for the sake of argument

what????

The same type of assets that would be required to get Drouin could also get Landeskog. Landeskog might actually come a little cheaper due to the difference in quality of GMs. I think between the two, Landeskog would be a better fit for the Flyers IMO.

Outside of MacKinnon, who should be untouchable, Landeskog is the only one I'd really want from Colorado. Don't wanna spend the assets and cap for Duchesne, and I think Barrie is overrated.

I dont disagree with your analysis but this is like comparing apples to oranges in a sense. One is a PWF with an established presence in the NHL, the other is a unique cross between a Playmaker and Sniper who is just beginning to show he may be capable of reaching the potential everyone thought he could when he was drafted.

I understand they are different but both are available for defense help. So if the prices are similar, I would rather those assets be used for Landeskog.

If some of the linemates of TK would have shot at a decent % he could of had about 15-20 more points.

If that was seriously possible I would trade Jake and vorobyov straight up for ovi.
