Its a weird situation isn't it?
JB is saying..."Bring back Miller for a couple years, while we suck, but lets not try to suck too hard."
Its like - we know we're gonna blow, Miller gives us a slightly less chance of blowing too hard, but we don't care, but we kinda do care.
Or let Markstrom who we don't trust slowly take over the reigns and suck at an unknown amount.... - Brooks_Light
It really is. It is like we are waiting in Limbo for contracts to end and prospects to come in.
It would be different if you were paying respects to a winning tradition and hung on to a few players but we just can't seem to pick a direction and start heading there.
Too much respect for a losing history. Miller, the twins , Hansen Burrows Tanev Edler Hamhuis |

#Canucks NHL Combine meetings (per @DhaliwalSports):
Yesterday: Hischier, Necas
Today: Vilardi
Tomorrow: Pettersson, Makar, Rasmussen - VANTEL
the only guy I don't wanna see us take. 5 should be much too early for him anyway. |

It is kinda funny how many write off Virtanen as a bust at 20, yet a team like Pittsburgh has a 22 year-old rookie contributing big time in these current playoffs. Small sample size etc, but Guentzel is a nice positional player.
Some players I am hoping Benning has a choice from with our top 5 picks
#5 Vilardi, Glass and Necas - #33 Bowers, Matthews, Popuguaev, P.O. Joseph, Timmins, Jokiharju
#55 Shaw, Anderson-Dolan, Salo, Leschyshyn-#64 Safin, Brook, Gadjovich, Phillips, Rasanen
#95 Fleury, Schnarrl, Geisser.
Lots of decent options as well as a few other players in there that I am not so high on, but others are. Also a pretty good mix of Centre and defense with only a couple wingers on above list. |

Miller really helped keep the team out of the basement the last couple of seasons. |

Benning wants him around as he appears to be the only players willing to protect younger players. |

I'm not in a rush to write off JV, but also not in a rush to pencil him into the Canuck lineup.
Maybe he should have stayed in junior instead of the nhl the year before. I'm hoping Utica last year was an eye opener and comes back motivated, in shape would be great, but motivated to put in the work and work harder.
He just didn't look very good/confident/head in the game to start last season. |

I am sure if JV was playing with Sid he would have more than 7 goals

I think there's a good chance Vegas is going to take Boucher |

Why? Do you think he will have another playoff meltdown with the Canucks also? |

I think we'd all like to see Sbisas contract gone, as unlikely as it is. Aside from that I'd much rather lose Gaunce than Boucher.
Canucks goal total needs to go way up, Boeser will help, but a guy like Boucher could add a significant amount as well |

It wouldn't surprise me if they took Sbisa's contract just to hit the cap floor. |

agreed, he did start finding the net with the more consistent ice time he was given. |
