lol don't put words in my mouth. I said that any top 10 goalie last year would have better numbers than Miller/Markstrom if they had played on the Canucks and I would be willing to guarantee that. I never gave numbers. |

lol Don you missed the part where I said I didn't give numbers. I wasn't trying to dive into specific goalie stats or compare them, I was merely giving support to my argument that the Canucks SHOULDN'T sign an aging Miller and have the same goalie Duo that has kept us at the bottom of the NHL for the last few seasons. My point was that Miller played well last year, still doesn't cover up the fact we were a bottom team. A new direction (and younger) would serve the franchise better than signing that old bag of bones again. |

My point is our goalies age is irrelevant. If you are signing a 1 year stop gap he can be 25 or 45. Who cares if that player can provide stability. |

Gadjovich could be a great pickup as well at the end of the 2nd. Big and a talented goal scorer - CanuckDon
I like it. Pretty impressive beard for an 18 y/o. |

I think it just shows a lack of commitment to getting younger/better. Eventually when things continue to be bad, the worst thing you can do is continue on being bad, especially when you have a chance to change that. You have an opportunity to sign a few free agent goalies in their mid 20's, some who had better numbers, and also will be much cheaper, but you elect to sign Miller again (whether it is 1 or more years), it just doesn't make sense IMO. The league is getting younger and faster, and most teams are showing a commitment to that, and it reflects in their recent success. |

if you think goaliending was this teams problem, you didn't watch one game. Miller was fantastic, despite his number/ terrible d men in front of him.
I really don't agree, resign Miller to a 1 year deal, he's a better goalie than Markstrom right now (hopefully after Christmas it will change), the age of whatever goalie we pick up (if any) is irrelevant, as we will probably only use that goalie for 2 season MAX, people seem to forget Demko will probably be going for the starter position in the next few years |

I get what you mean, if we're going to suck might as well be with a goalie we already have. |

Bachman is a capable backup imo, if we are going to suck either way why even bother getting another goalie?

lol you are too far behind our conversation to jump in now. This dates back to yesterday, or maybe even the day before. It started out with Don saying that PIT D is worse than ours, and me arguing that I feel that is a false statement. We are on the topic of goalies because of the current status of Jim Benning openly saying he wants Miller back, when I think the majority of us (even though a 1 year deal wouldn't be the end of the world) don't want Miller back. I am just stating points that support that. |
