L'agent de Galchenyuk, Pat Brisson, a révélé à La Presse que son client serait ouvert à signer une entente d'une seule saison.
« Nous n'avons pas encore eu de pourparlers, mais j'ai l'impression que nous pourrions commencer à négocier d'ici une semaine, a-t-il mentionné. On ne dit pas non à un contrat d'un an. On va évaluer le dossier d'Alex et regarder ce qu'il peut valoir en arbitrage. »
Galchenyuk a signé un contrat de deux ans d'une valeur de 5,6 millions $ en 2015.
L'attaquant de 23 ans revient d'une saison en dents de scie au cours de laquelle il a récolté 17 buts et 27 passes pour un total de 44 points en 61 matchs.

Well, signing for one year would be better for him because he just got off a difficult season...could ask for more money if he gets better numbers next season, and arbitration would surely go on his side.
