There wont be an S word.

But what the hell do you do if you're Nashville? The Pens couldnt have wont the game in a better fashion than this.
The Preds are always going to wonder when Rinne is going to cost them another game now...

- stackthepads

That's what I'm saying. The preds shouldn't have much confidence right now and subban is borderline mad. Rinne went thrashing into the locker room and I just don't see him recovering well after this game. History shows he's been terrible against us, and these playoffs have been no different. He's actually been worse. You hope for a miracle if you're Nashville and appreciate everything if you're Pittsburgh! What a time to be a pens fan guys. Just wow

Guentz also having the playoff single season GWG record for a rookie... and 5 ties him for 4th all time, with Mario and some others.

Record is 7, so he could only tie it.

- Guile

I dont like GWG as a statistic because it could be 4-1 and you score to make it 5-1 but then they come back to make it 5-4 and suddenly you have the GWG

I think goals to tie or go ahead are more useful. but he has a bunch of those too. either way you slice it hes been clutch

if they fix the powerplay, they are right in any game. even before the absolute meltdown in that one minute, i thought the pens play at even strength was much improved.

however, i just think however you choose to slice it, beating this nashville team four times in a row will be extremely hard.

I'll take 4 wins out of 7, In any way the Pens can get them!

can't wait to spend the next 2 days reading about what it means to be the "better team"

tanners blog here I come

- bulet13

Be nice to see how many games the pens have played this postseason that show the analytic best team losing. I bet it's about 75% or more.

Con smythe unless sid or geno are godly moving through the rest of the series.

Needs to catch up a bit more in points to become a favorite, or just break the rookie goal record... but after tonight he better be in the conversation.

I don't think points matters too much..his clutchness has to be a huge factor.

MM with a .974 after his off game last night. The kid is ice. Needs a burger though. I can't believe a toothpick stops the puck so well.

Not enough can be said about JG. He had a slump but still had a ton of chances/posts. I love the kid, way to go buddy!

He just broke 2 American rookie playoff scoring records, on the verge of breaking an all time record!

After last game,

"With the tally (10), Guentzel is just one goal back of Jeremy Roenick for the most postseason goals by an American-born rookie in NHL history.

That's not all.

His 17 points are also just one shy of both Roenick and Joe Mullen for the American rookie record. Meanwhile, his four game-winning goals during the playoffs already have him in a tie for the NHL rookie record with former Colorado Avalanche forward Chris Drury and Montreal Canadiens forward Claude Lemieux."

The Score

1 game winner, 2 goals for 19 pts.

The only thing that will make tonight better is the Tanner meltdown blog. After this series the Preds should play the caps for the Corsi cup.

I gotta say, Bones had a hell of a game without showing up on the score sheet. He was great defensively. 61% at the dot.

PK put on a good face for the reporters, Josi an Rinne not so much.

This series ain't over by a long shot, but the seed of doubt has been planted.

Rinne is definitely a mess right now. I think it's more than a seed of doubt. Preds better hope he doesn't give up a quick bad goal on Saturday.
