I still have no idea why Face offs aren't valued? Someone please explain.

I thought that was a pretty good period, excluding the last minute I though Nashville was a team hoping for a bounce while the Pens were looking to score.

honestly, the only thing that really got me was the absolutely pathetic attempts on the man advantage. i can stomach not scoring. i get that you cant convert every time. but when they are absolutely wasted and jumbled its infuriating.

the loss of bonino leaves a dark cloud for me. hes big, especially when no one else can win a faceoff.

other than that, the play at even strength was definitely a lot better than before.

Lol when the NBCSN cast says the refs will get it together. They haven't had it together for a single game since the start of the playoffs.

That's all the explanation I need. If he says it...it's the opposite.

Honestly though, I've heard "because they don't lead directly to goals or something along those lines."

Laviolette has put together a great PK strategy for the Pens, he did it too in Philly.

right dude.

look, i get it, in the large construct of an entire 82 game season, you can trivialize almost any stat.

but faceoffs on special teams are absolutely huge.

and at even strength for this pens team, with the talent void on defense in zone exit/entries, winning faceoffs are even more important than normal.

Also, the Pens seem to have forgotten about the winger win. Guys are just standing there like they're not allowed to touch it.

Had the TV muted for that segment but I'll guess Milbury/Jones thought the hit on Cullen was beautiful but Chris Kunitz deserves a lifetime suspension?

And now a puff piece on the dirtbag who smuggled a catfish into the arena in his panty hose. So now he's a national celebrity.

I would ask if the refs could get any worse, but I am scared to see it happen.

Noticed the center gets tossed quick for us trying to get in fast...there will be adjustments no worries.

Wonder if I can put the game on SAP and hear only the sounds of the ice and such... and turn on our radio broadcaster for the rest of the game? I remember a Rangers fan saying that could be done some games last season... sounds damn good for this series.

Lavvy is a good coach. he never really had the proper personnel in philly. he also just strikes me as the type who just has a shelf life of five or so years wherever he goes.

the preds are extremely deep and talented, and their PK has the scheme and talent to be difficult. i know it wont be a cakewalk. but seeing things like phil behind the net/lazy dump ins. malkin just making passes to vacant areas of ice, and the second unit absolutely refusing to shoot, its making it far too easy on them.

schultz needs to at least attempt a shot or two. it keeps everyone a bit more honest. his shot is pretty good whenever he chooses to use it.

Honestly I think it's been pretty even. The missed call on Cullen being the only one I have issue with. Even if it's not from behind the puck was 5 feet away from him.

A boarding, and two right hooks... by my count that is three missed ejections against Nashville.

Way too many cross ice/slot passes that get picked. Pitt needs to respect the d here more.

That punch to Guentz get's called all year long.

As much as I hate mildouche, he's right, they're pretty close to losing control of the game.

They need to just shoot, a couple PPs where all they do is shoot and the Preds may back off a bit and give some space for the pass.

He came back at him with a crosscheck. Probably negated it there.
