lol well hey im not gonna take anything away from you as a blog writer. not your fault the other mike in buffalo got the other gig. i do read you after i get my fill of the leafs. you know keep your friends close and your enemies closer. i have a few friends that are sabres fans. we take shots at each other all the time. hope you dont take this as nothing more.

Here's the thing with the Leafs/Sabres championship stuff. The Sabres weren't even around the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup.

My dog nitro! ....actually in a article I read about several teams are interested in him and having knowledge that the Sabres had two scouts at the tournament, obviously scouting both teams!but curious if any word if he might of been their primary target?

I think it's pretty safe to assume that the NHL has one or more camera angles that we don't see. They saw something definitive enough to make the call. If it was inconclusive they would have called it inconclusive like they've done dozens of times so far this year

The only reason the offsides challenge came to be is because the officials blew a call on a Tampa goal against the Mighty Montreal Canadians. I have said all along that one of the main problems with the challenge is that if it is so important to get the call right, why are the teams ability to challenge limited to whether a team has a time out or not. The coaches should have unlimited challenges if it is so damn important.
Take your heads out of the sand if you don't think the league doesn't control what they want to have happen throughout the course of the season, through replays and officiating. They decide the schedule, reviews, what officials work which games, make up rules as they go along to satisfy their end results.

It's not that the Leafs haven't won in 50 years so much, but the fact that they haven't won it with more than 6 teams in the league. I don't think they even made it to the finals since then.

I don't get all the reaction for referencing Toronto. Every single broadcast says the same thing whenever there is a replay.

this was probably the 3rd worst call I have seen on a goal in the playoffs


1. was clearly no goal number 2, where the puck entered from the side of the net, not through the net


2. when brett hull parked his fat a$$ in the crease and they shoved #99 out there the next day to lie and say he thought it was a good goal

3. the "offside" from last night

The worst part about it was it was just pure laziness. The game was going on too long and the refs just wanted to end it. The stupid rule was in place and enforced all year. This is my #1 terrible call of all time.

The review needs to stop egregious off-side errors and not put each zone entry into a microcosmic review. And really if it's that close and had zero to do with the goal it's the wrong outcome.

Yes reverse the ones that are clearly offside, but when your getting into centimeters its pretty stupid. Id like to see a 2min limit put on offside reviews, if you cant call it back by then, call on the ice stands. Too much worry about a few inches that really affect nothing.
