I Had a buddy go down to watch the Pens there a while ago, the 5-1 poop kicking I think. said it was one of the best hockey experiences he's had. Even though the game wasn't really close.

I got lucky in him asking to join the tour I was on to say a bit incognito. He wouldn't pet any of the animals we were allowed, except for the giraffe. Too afraid of a scratch because "Coach would (frank)ing kill me if I got nicked before the finals".

I believe Rutherford made those comments to clearly let the NHL know that their "change of rules" in the playoffs is laughable and oblivious. The NHL office should just come out and say they use a different rule book in the playoffs. Longer term fans, newer fans are all left confused as puck figuring out these two different products they see.

It is easy to neutralize a player in the playoffs....that is why winning in the playoffs is never about luck, its about determination who will fight through it all....and that is why this team is really special to watch.

Rutherford is doing this now, so they can get favourable calls against a team that has been punishing the opposition throughout the play-offs.... it's a good strategy.... seems kinda wussy, but it may work.

Sure, it's partially strategic on Rutherford's part, but it also happens to be true. The NHL allows lesser teams to abuse the stars. It happens all the time, but that doesn't make it right.
