Some possible trades for AA: 2018 1st AA for galencky and bealiu (excuse my spelling) AA straight for for j.t miller from rangers and someone mention AA for ryan murphy and a 2nd get puck moving d man and only 24 AA and 3rd for folingo and deslauries from buffalo. thoughts are welcome and any tweaks or other thoughts of possible trades.

you summed it up earlier - the rule sucks

Kempny did have more leverage than a normal North American RFA because he could always go back to the KHL instead of signing. He would likely be paid more in the KHL since he's a higher profile player there, same way Rundblad makes more in Europe than he ever did in the NHL. Hell, Rundblad is probably part of why they didn't give Kempny two years - they ended up having to buy Rundblad out in his second year because it just wasn't working. They won't have huge bonus overage to worry about after next year, either.

Either way, it's a little too much angst for a player than hadn't quite got the NHL play style figured out yet and may never do so.

I'm not buying that. If he wanted to go back , he would have done it this year after being jerked around all year. There is no one who thinks he is like Runbad! They obviously think he has some potential or would not have brought him here and then resigned him. Lastly, there is no angst. As I said earlier, it may turn out to be nothing, but this is another case of poor asset mgmt. at least he didn't get a NMC.

It's a terrible rule that needs to be changed along with other ridiculous things in the NHL that keeps goal scoring down. And.....as I've watched Pittsburgh through out the playoffs, I just cringe thinking of another year of Quenneville behind the bench. Trevor Daley sure would have helped us had he not been run out of town.....for Scuderi no less !!! Just BRUTAL management from Quenneville UP on that one. We should have won a CUP last year or this year with 4 Hall of Famers in their prime.
