I follow over 500 people on Twitter. You're right, no one cares. But if you're really saying no one is possibly overhyping DeBrincat right now, you perhaps didn't learn much during "Teuvo Time" - John Jaeckel
Ok then help me understand what exactly I was supposed to learn.
I haven't seen anything from Hawks' brass guaranteeing him a position next year, just like there was never anything from them setting the bar or expecatation too high on Teravainen.
So other than a bunch of people tweeting about Teravainen being awesome or "Teuvo Time" or whatever people were tweeting about him and now apparently Debrincat, what's the big deal?

There is an old Billy Joel song called, "You may be right, you may be wrong" which might be what he performed at a recent (past three seasons?) major event - although i cannot recall if it was the Super Bowl.
Anyway, much had been debated about Bowman and his job performance. He is given credit for re-tooling and identifying a core which brought three championships. Where he has taken some good and bad review had been largely about identifying, drafting prospects and the payment for contracts he dealt due to salary cap.
While i am fairly certain no GM does not have a blemish, now going forward say through next 2018 draft and another possible expansion......this is really his calling card - it is what he will be graded upon by McDonough and Rocky. To them, the market driven success force McDonough being the key, another old song (Janet Jackson dance) is appropiate: What have you done for me lately.
While those songs are not favorites but merely ok for myself, Bowman by this fall time of year could have some boo birds. How soon until he identifies with the "I guess that is why they vall it the blues" song.
As far as the stable Stan works with -
I do believe Scotty is sharp and that Team Blackhawk is capable of identifying new blood for the NHL roster now and your proverbial prospects.
The biggest challenge now is whether Stan moves somewhat away from the emphasis on smaller skill fast players to those who will compete physically for the puck along the boards. And he must bring in someone who will whack away the same as those who usually without reprisal administer a beating upon our captain. It is the attitude to dish it back, take no prisoners that forces the other team to respect us. Not to mention, prevent Toews from going the Dave Bolland way as a career heads toward a premature end.
So let us hope no one joins in mock derision of the Bowman brain trust. Stan is responsible not only for regular season and post season success, but he has to look good or have a promising looking team all the while changing over to a greater emphasis on team size and snarl. Must keep them a good skating group as well. A tough challenge but he has to do it.
I do not like Q in the role he will play solely because he is not known willing at teaching young players who have a certain amount of on job training.
I foresee a greater challenge, too, for team success because while i like Forsling, Kempny, possibly Ruuta, i question if we again become at times a puck possession team. The Quebec junior Hightower (sic) kid bears watching due to face off proficiency to the extent that one wonders if he is recalled sooner than a DeBrincat, Knott, even Luis.
Iocopella, even Bondra and others i have doubt. Bring Sikula here asap as a possible core skill guy. Is Gilbert a newbie fown the road, and how effective could Snuggerud be on a third pair (by playiffs if another kid struggles)? |

The jury is out on Graham Knott for sure. I'd say he only has a 50/50 chance of even making it to the NHL.
Alex DeBrincat.. is a lock in my mind. You can't teach his level of motivation. This kid wasn't just a flash in the pan that finished strong in his final season. He scored 50+ goals and 100+ points every single season in the OHL. I would put him on the same kind of trajectory as a Johnny Gaudreau. If he clicks with the team in training camp and earns a roster spot, he will likely never go to the AHL. - Hawks_49
The thing about DeBrincat that makes me take a step back...he wasn't really a standout at the last training camp. He was okay, but other prospects were better. He still has to prove something if he wants to crack the lineup IMO. |

That may have been the nervous jitters of being at his first NHL camp. I'm sure we will see a more confident guy this time around. |

Tbf it's hard for 18/19 year olds to standout in their first camp. Not that I disagree with you that he'd need to really prove something to make the lineup, and I think DeBrincat would do well with some time in the AHL, personally.
Some have compared him to Gaudreau and Tyler Johnson in terms of size that can make it into the NHL, but both those guys were a little older when coming into the AHL/NHL than DeBrincat would be to start next season. I mean, Johnson played almost two full years in the AHL before making the jump. If DeBrincat's development progression is somewhere between those two, that would be pretty good. |

According to Ek.We might trade anisimov to Montreal,I just don't see them as a good trading partner. What would be the return?Montreal has a lot of problems as well, not enough scoring on there top 2 lines.Word out of Montreal is that there trying to get Duchene and might deal Galchenuk and others for him.I would like to see the Hawks get a good 3rd line center that can produce and win faceoffs. Its going to be a very interesting draft and summer.A lot of action will start once the finals is completed. |

Can someone please explain the extreme passion to break-up what at worst has been the second best line IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE during the past two seasons?
I mean, this year I have the 72 15 88 line ranked 9th in the NHL in goals scored and last year I think they were 1st.
If it ain't broke don't fix it! Let's not overreact to an early exit to what very well may be the Stanley Cup Champs.
If you wanna play both sides of the coin and move big contracts for the future while still seriously competing for the cup let's look at moving 81 and/or 7.

Can't forget the best scene of that year... Toews and Seabrook in the box. |

Do the Hawks plan to have a Top 3 mixed with Forsling, Kempny, Rutta (if signs), and Gustafsson?? If that, can always be worse. Curious if they see Kempny and Rutta as a 3rd pair and someone with Hammer or Seabrook on the second. |

Wow. THey need to get rid of these reviews. They are awful. That replay was inconclusive, at best, and had literally NO IMPACT on the goal. If it's too close to see in real time, it has ZERO impact on a goal scored 45 seconds later. Not to mention the review time KILLS game flow. NHL Clown Show strikes again. |
