I think this is somewhat unfair but it's really hard to argue against the gist of it. His poor decisions and non decisions outnumber his good ones. - LeftCoaster
Mark Stone is certainly showing that skating isn't everything.
Sedin's are 2 years removed from 70 point campaigns. NHL hasn't changed that much in the past 2 seasons. Sedin's just got older.
As long as the player isn't weak with the puck and doesn't have an entire line of slow players with him.
Bo's skating wasn't the greatest. I would say Vilardi has a much higher hockey IQ then Bo will ever have. - manvanfan
I disagree on the hockey IQ.
Also playing C is much harder than wing.
That all said in the end its splitting hairs on hockey IQ.
I think your correct he will be gone so its Mittelstadt or Glass for us prolly.
JB coukd take Makar if he is gaga about him but OJ last draft prolly means no. - Nighthawk
It just depends on if anyone ahead of Van takes a D. With Vilardi, Glass being close in skill level, depends on if a team views Vilardi as an NHL center. I think that Liljegren is JB's D man of choice.
Makar getting a lot of hype but I don't see him in the top 5. 7 or 8 to Arizona or Buffalo.

Hard to argue all of that other than Makar is very unique.
I see Heiskanen's rise as legit & Liljgren a later steal.
All the more reason i want another 1st pick.
I would think he only reason why Vilardi doesn't play center is because of his skating. - manvanfan
Also adding to that his versatility & the role his coach plays him in.
Its hard to say if he is a true C or not but his skill set is impressive.
At 5OA we will get a very good talent & need in one fell swoop IMO

Apparently, using our top picks to select players with terrible characters who can't do much of anything on the ice (Virtanen, McCann) isn't the way to go! Who could have guessed?!?
And, this town did so well with characterless players like Bryant Reeves, Mark Messier and Cody Hodgson too...
But, seriously, do they really know what players can do on the ice? These are the guys who thought Virtanen was better than Ehlers or Nylander, McCann was better than Pastrnak, Juolevi was better than Tkachuk, etc... - stringerbell
Yah and one of the 30 teams to pass on Listrom, Palat,Gilmour, Brett Hull, Hasek, Robitaille, Fleury, Datsyuk, Lundqvist, Benn, Pavelski, Bondra.
