[quote=manvanfan]I'm about 15 minutes behind the game but that was a Auston Matthews type steal to create a scoring chance then to use his body to hold off the defender and draw a penalty. If he could skate a little better I would think people would be talking about him for first overall. Need's to learn to use his strength along the boards.
As i'm typing this he comes off the bench, starts and sets up a goal for Windsor.
I'm not going to lie. Skating is my biggest attribute. He could do everything right if he can't skate he means nothing to me. As per my own experience in hockey if you can't take your skating to the next level it doesn't matter how good you are at everything else. |

That's what i want from our team moving forward.
Speed speed speed.
From the D to the forwards.
If this kid can bring that at the NHL level, i'd welcome him with open arms.
Hopefully speed is something that Green values and focuses on. - dbot

Not watching the game, but is his mem cup performance increasing his value for van to take if hes there at 5? - phyllee
Maybe? Most mock's have him in the top 5 already. If he wins this game for Windsor, I would say he's just more of a lock at 3.
I already have him at 3 in my draft.
I think it depends on whether teams believe he is a center or a winger. If he's there at 5, I sure hope Van takes him. |

Mark Stone is certainly showing that skating isn't everything.
Sedin's are 2 years removed from 70 point campaigns. NHL hasn't changed that much in the past 2 seasons. Sedin's just got older.
As long as the player isn't weak with the puck and doesn't have an entire line of slow players with him.
Bo's skating wasn't the greatest. I would say Vilardi has a much higher hockey IQ then Bo will ever have. |

The debate hasn't even started. Neither are in the NHL yet. |

Mittelstadt no. Glass, Vilardi, Liljegren are 3-4-5 IMO. Not in that order. |

Edler's better. Probably explains why he wasn't drafted. I honestly don't care if Van picks him up or not. |

That would be quite the feat indeed 😂😂 |

I think this is somewhat unfair but it's really hard to argue against the gist of it. His poor decisions and non decisions outnumber his good ones. |

Both are going to help this team in the future.
What I like best about Vilardi this tournament is 0 goals 7 assists. Van has a few shooters now in Goldy, Boeser, Dahlen. Need someone to set them up.
I see Glass as more of a Mark Schefiele scorer type.

I think your correct he will be gone so its Mittelstadt or Glass for us prolly.
JB coukd take Makar if he is gaga about him but OJ last draft prolly means no. |

Any calls on who is going to take it? - thundachunk
I think Windsor is the stronger team. But weaker teams have won before, hard to say. |
