I guess he ended up being the centre piece in the Jordan Stall trade haha

Staal

for

Dumoulin - Sutter - 1st (8th overall Pouliot)

- storm88

Pitt also turned sutter into bonino and used Glenndening in the hagelin trade

yeah, coming off the luongo fiasco, a kesler holdout would have been ideal for this organization and the brand new management regime.

Excuses, always excuses for the idiots who run the team....no wonder the Canucks have never and will probably never win a Cup.

i'm not a huge fan of this regime but c'mon lefty, have some perspective...

a new management team comes to an organization that was in turmoil both organizationally as well as within the room.

adding to this was the team's inability to trade a high profile player for 2 years. they finally moved on from that controversy.

and what you advocate is for the team (and new gm) is to play a game of chicken with one of the team's most high profile players who has made it 100% clear through his agent that he will not report to the team. this is a player who was on the last year of his contract meaning that he would be a ufa if he sat out 1 full year.

so, you wait for him to blink or you keep a rapidly diminishing asset (by virtue of his expiring deal) for a few months to a full year? it's easy to have big brass balls when you're sitting on the sidelines. what happens if kesler sat the whole year and just signed with Anaheim (or anyone else) on his own? you would blame benning for being an idiot and not taking the best offer available. what happens when the deal isn't as good as what you would want? you blame benning for not holding out and playing a game of chicken with a selfish, petulant man-child.

i'm all for criticizing this regime but there are a lot more idiots than just those that run this team.

Surely to God he could've gotten Theodore instead of Sbisa, that's who I was screaming for even if he wasn't a proven player, he's a building block.

Just saw how major league baseball proudly displayed the brawl on there front page thinking to myself "Isnt this kinda inappropriate front page material" In kind of disgust.

When I've watched hockey for 28 years and never blinked an eye.......

That blew my mind

I have seen a few articles where the Sens may leave Dion or Bobby Ryan exposed for the draft.

Not one mention did I hear of other players ever refusing to ever sign again with the Sens. If someone here mentions put Edler or Sutter exposed and this team is dubbed the Black Plague and no one for the next 50 years will ever sign here

Benning should call Loui into his office and say "Loui we made a big big mistake signing you and we would like to protect younger players on our team. We would like to expose you in the draft but don't worry the chances of them taking you are zero. "

Maybe then Loui will be happy to waive his NMC

The worst he can say is FU

“We have something to offer Ryan(Miller) that he already knows,” Canucks general manager Jim Benning told the newspaper Thursday. “We’ve got some positives for him and if that’s the route we go, that’s why we’re doing it.”

This looks more like it's going to happen every day

For those who want to trade Hutton, might be worth looking at his possession and zone exit/entry numbers. He is third on the team only to Tanev and Stecher, and significantly better than pretty much every other Dman on the team. Pretty decent if you ask me.

They are bringing Miller back, we don't need more defense.

Playing meaningful games in March.
