I'd say Chychrun is the more accurate comparison
Day had a couple of entire seasons where he didn't play well
I think the death of his brother really messed him up
He's got talent though,
so he could be a guy down the road who ends up a good NHLer
I'd be happy with Liljegren at 8
If we take another forward my head might explode! Hahaha
Although Tippett would be tempting if he's still there - jdfitz77
Here's a fun question...At what number of defensemen picked before 8, would you get excited for a forward? |

That's tough
It's like last year. We needed Sergachev or Chychrun, but I was ok with Nylander. I do like him & think he'll be a good player for us.
Just makes it tough to really be excited to pick a forward again bc our depth on defense is so minimal.
We really only have Guhle coming, and maybe Borgen, as far as top4 guys go
I'm not taking a defenseman no matter what
If we had won the lotto, I was taking Hischier no question
That kid is dynamic
I really hope Jersey takes him, bc f#ck philly (hahaha)

Yeah... he had a hard time when he returned bc of his mono
Lost weight & strength
Played well towards the end of the season
Liljegren might be the safest bet to be a sure fire top4 guy in the whole draft - jdfitz77
They cited his decision making as the biggest weakness. That's a huge red flag. Truth is none of these guys outside of heiskanen are really sure fire picks. If they want to go safe they should take a forward |

1. Nico
2.Patrick
3.Heiskanen
4.Makar
5.Mittle
6.Vilardi
7.Liljgren
What do you do? Trade down? Go forward? Take 4th D off the board? |

I haven't read that
Interesting
I'd even be ok trading back & taking Foote or Vilamaki |

1) trade for a young NHL defenseman if possible
2) trade down for an extra 2nd this year, or 1st next year if it's far down
3) Tippett, but then spend all 2nds & 3rds on defensemen
4) if they happen to love the next defenseman available, I'm ok "reaching" at this spot bc there's little difference between 8-20 |

He finished behind brannstrom in basically everything and yet he's ranked like 8 spots lower. You could trade down, get an extra pick and still potentially wind up with a better player this year. |

I'm cool with trading back |

The problem is we don't have an identity, at all.
We aren't fast
We aren't physical
We aren't overly skilled
We aren't a great defensive team
Our former GM just didn't know how to build a team.
Don't chase trends, build an identity - sbroads24
That's a little HArsh. There are some good pieces in Buffalo. I expect, without the injuries, they will be better next seasons and maybe in that big group competing for the final playoff spot. |

We've been packing our pipes with premium, high-grade Harsh since Jack's injury on the eve of the start of last season. Forgive us. |

It was a season best left forgotten...
Except, Jack Eichel had a very good year after the injury. That is a seriously good sign. |

Am I imagining this or did LaViolette just drop an F bomb in his pregame speech and NBC didn't bleep it? |

We'll see what happens. Lavy shut down the Penguins' stars a time or two in the past. |

Probably. When Snoop DJ'ed the allstar game he played f-bombs all over the place. It was awesome.

The fact that teams are permitted to challenge plays which might be offside by millimeters is (frank)ing asinine. |
