IMO if the Flyers draft Nolan, he is on the opening night roster unless something unexpected happens. If the Flyers draft Nico, IMO he is 80/20 back in Juniors.

Could you imagine if Nico is sent back to juniors, I think the casual fans would throw rocks at Hextall's house. It's bad enough some fans thought it was good to have a full all rookie defense the last couple years.

I personally think the Flyers get Nolan Patrick and I am pretty happy with that.

Given that I think it makes more sense for him to go with the player who many feel has the offensive edge and who has the cleaner bill of health. Not to mention I just think Nico fits in with NJ a little bit better.

Agreed, I think we'll see Patrick in orange and black too. It should be a very interesting off season and camp to say the least. Without knowing who we are going to lose in the exp. draft and assuming Patrick is the guy we get with the 2nd pick, our forward depth chart looks something like:

That's 18 guys for 13 or 14 roster spots. Even if one is lost in the ED and one is moved in the offseason, it should still be a heck of a battle in camp and the fact that many of these guys can play multiple positions (Filpulla, Cousins, Konecny, Weal, Bellemare, Lindblom, Schenn, Weise and Read can all play 2 or more), just makes it that much more interesting.

Wow - I envy you for having been at that game. The crowd reaction to the Flyers' back-to-back goals has to be the best ever example of the passion that Philly fans bring to the table in support of any of their teams.

what made it even more fun was that I knew everyone in my section because we all had season tickets for years. it was so disappointing when we moved to the new building and they didn't keep us in the same section.

Same for us, the Center is so sterile compared to the Spectrum. The folks in section K, especially those in rows 19-21 (our seats were in 20) were like family. Everyone knew everyone and they were all down to earth, true Flyers fans. I miss that building.

I think the competition for roster spots and ice time is great. In my view I see barring any trade between now and camp, 8 forwards who are locks for the roster. The rest will have to earn their spot. I hope we see the same level of competition for spots on the defense.

Not even going that far. Kind of disturbing first that people here felt the need to bring it up and even more so that some were well aware of the content and perhaps viewed it. I haven't googled it and certainly won't now after what I read here.

I love it !!!! The number of quality forwards prospects has really started to catch up with the D and goalie prospects this year and the next two should see a lot of these guys filling in the spots that need to be replaced.
