Bennett for Lindholm?

A bit of savings for us. Bennett is due for a raise (although not much) and we are in search of a 3-4 defencemen that will likely cost us somewhere around 4 million.

Lindholm I believe is 5.25 mill.

Leaves us a few extra million to resign Backlund and hopefully have Jankowski slot into a third line role.

Well it has to be about the expansion, because that's exactly why they are looking to trade a dman. If they don't trade someone they will be forced to expose one of their top young players. If not for expansion, i don't think they would consider trading these guys.

Lindholm for Bennett is very tempting though. I can't make up my mind if I would do it though. It would instantly give the Flames one of the best top 4 in the league, but also opens a hole up front. I know lots on here are high on Janko, but he hasn't proven anything at the NHL level yet.

This is my feeling too ...this is a deal that the ducks do to help them in expansion ...not after ...so I doubt there's much to it

I get janko had a great season but people do need to realize he's still going to be a rookie ...and just slotting him in and thinking he won't have any issues is just dumb

Bennett had a strong end to his season as well so I kinda want to see what he is next year ...just a year ago everyone in here was calling Bennett for a breakout year ...now he's trade bait ...

As tempting as it could be I don't do this trade. We have some good prospects coming up in D. Do we have anything remotely close to Bennett's potential in the farm?

I get the Bennett is still an unproven commodity but he has A LOT of potential, and I would rather know what is there before you trade it.
