Matt Murray is rocking a .946 sv% and 4 quality starts in 5 games, and you (frank)s want to put Fleury in? (frank) outta here. lol.

hahaha....hey, just saying a gut feeling...my gut has been wrong before...like last night for instance, my gut told me that the Sens were going to win in OT.

No, his glove isn't the worst, probably average. And yes, you're going to get his sv% thrown back at you, because it's proof that he's (frank)ing good. Don't be dumb.

Holtby's glove wasn't exactly all world in these playoffs either.

I like Fleury, and he has played extremely well in these playoffs, and the Pens wouldn't be in the finals if it weren't for him. But Murray is the better goalie. And he's come back from his injury with a vengeance.

What goalie has an all world glove? And how the hell can you prove it? That's what I want to know. (Not being a Richard, just honestly asking.)

That said, if they go down 0-2 in this series and or the goals against becomes an issue, no one should have an issue with Fleury back in net either.

I'd be 100% fine with that.

Pretty much what I was trying to say. Who can measure "glove greatness"?

People say of goalies today, Lundqvist has a great glove, but how has that worked out for the Rangers the past couple playoff seasons? Pens pretty much tortured his glove hand last season, no?

I think Flower should start for no other reason than Murray's glove is still quite possibly the worst glove of any starter in the league. But I'm sure I'll get his sv% thrown back at me as proof that he's godly or something.
- ScienceJesus

Murray looked so composed and positionally sound in net. I think that will be critical against Nashville, where I expect them to bring a lot more traffic to the front of the net.

Selfishly, I want the Preds to win because of the PK fiasco, but I am confident that Pittsburgh will take it. Their D is great and all, but missing Johansson (who still isn't comparable to Sid and Malkin) will be too much for them. Plus Sid can take the next few days to get back to 100%. He looked great last night.

Great glove saves in the modern NHL are usually a matter of put the glove out there and pray the puck goes in it. If an NHL player has time to go high glove from in tight, you're going to need to get lucky to make the save.

People fall for media false narratives, and then when they see a few goals scored glove side, it's "omg worst glove ever. holy poop. so bad." when you could literally insert every god damn goalie into that scenario and it would play out identically. Butterfly goalies take away SO much of the bottom of the net, a lot of shooters instincts are to go high. It's similar to when your coming across the shot and you shoot against the grain and it makes it a difficult save.. same thing but vertically. Goalie goes down, shot goes up.. more difficult. Every goalie has a bad glove hand. It's just the nature of the position.

I have to say I really enjoy watching a Mike Sullivan led team. The constant adjustments he comes up with, whether that be style of attack, line combos or knowing when to healthy scratch a guy and then put him back in the line up. Truly amazing the chemistry this whole group has and everything has been working like magic since his arrival.

I'm interesting in game 3 as Nashville has a tradition of throwing catfish on the ice, last round they were throwing dead ducks on the ice....if a dead Penguin comes on that ice......holy poop will PETA goes ape poop. lol

What's new? Whether it's injuries, the other team is simply due, or they have a hot goalie, etc., the Pens are typically dissed by reports and hockey experts who for whatever reason, simply don't like the idea of them winning.

Other than they are the defending champs (big deal, right?), they conveniently forget the fact that they had the 2nd best record this season, have the best player in the world, some of the most skilled forwards in the league and play a system that the rest of the league wanted to emulate after last season because it's results were so effective and probably have the best, most experienced goal tending tandem that any team could hope to have. Plus, they like to ignore that they have battled through all the things that were said to make them beatable from round to round in these playoffs and are again in the Cup finals despite them.

If Nashville wins, I won't be surprised, but if the Pens win, should anyone be? Really?

Last night reminded me of the 93 series against the Islanders. They had no business beating the Pens but they did. The only difference was that Barrasso was in goal and let up a softy that beat the Pens. Last night Murray was in goal. No softy in O/T just another solid performance by Matt Murray

I don't know how any fan of a team in one can say they enjoy a Game 7, especially a Game 7 OT. That's the most stressful roller coaster sick feeling in all of sports. After the fact, if your team wins it's awesome sure, but during the moment? Quite frankly, it sucks.

It was certainly stressful, my neck and back are sore as F today from hunching over for the 3rd and the OT's.
Feel like I played in the game

You sure it's not that Wingels snuck up behind you and whacked you in the head with an elbow? He didn't play last night so it could have been him...never know.

True.... but the superstition only holds if you haven't won the Cup IMO.... when you've won the ultimate prize previously why not celebrate being the best team in the conference that year.

San Jose is a perfect example of Ryan's point though.... they came in 2nd last year.... the avoided the WC Trophy like the plague and never got to really celebrate anything.

The Pens really are an amazing team. Last night was a great example of why I want the Pens to bring Kunitz back for at least next year. He hadn't been scoring but he has still been a very effective presence no matter where he has played in the lineup.

I keep praying that we are going to hear that Letang has recovered 5 months ahead of schedule and is ready to play on Monday. I mean, just imagine having him on the ice instead of Hainsey....

After watching this series I am even more steadfast in my belief that when healthy, Letang is a better player than Karlsson. The Sens whole system is designed around protecting him. Letang can wheel and still get back to cover his defensive spot without the Pens having to run a trap. I miss watching him play.
