Eakins is managing the Ducks AHL club in San Diego and getting credit for bringing the kids along. Theodore and Montour made the jump this year (and to a lesser extent Kase) and much of that credit was given to Eakins and the job he's doing. Now, I will acknowledge that maybe he's better suited in the AHL. That's a possibility. |

Yeah the Toronto media hailed him as the next great NHL coach when he coached the Marlies. Mac T was clearly a TSN guy I guess. But in all fairness, maybe that's Eakins niche? As bad as he was, he did have an absolute garbage roster that not even Scotty Bowman could have done well with. |
