It's real. I heard a few times last year and recently that he believes players earn their NTC . He has said he is not really interested in picks anymore.

I think he believes we are in a very comfortable spot right now with our prospect pool.

trade for picks then give up nothing for stop gaps who then can be moved at the deadline for more assets, which then gives the young guys some game from utica

Did these teams call their model the "oiler" or "kings" or whatever model years before ? If not when did it change to their own model ?

The Nashville model is not the worst you don't just trade away instantly but until you have an actual surplus. Maybe once OJ and Chatfield or Brisebois show they are actually NHL quality.

Look at the the drafting by the Canucks, flames, oilers and even leafs over the last 10-15 years ...you can see why they were or are terrible ...so many swing and misses
