No , I get that side of it. He wants a bunch of players that have not won in the NHL to remain as the pillars of the team.


Tanev does not hit and does not put up points so I am not a fan of his or turn the other cheeck Edler or the twins. I would rather they were sheltered by players closer to the style I like.

Green as a coach needs to split the Sedin's up and hopefully show they can play with other players so they can be traded separately at the TDL if they allow it. Rough if one wins the SC and the other doesn't though.

i agree with tradeing any player if it makes the Canucks better. i do not buy into change for the sake of change, or running out players for personal dislikes . The Team always comes first

lol i know . we could potentially have a Nash vs Ott series which would have 2 teams that didn't tank , didn't suck for years straight to get high picks , and drafted shrewdly and made excellent trades and signings . so with respects to them i do understand how JB might be thinking that , with a few more moves and some progression from the players we have , we could see strong improvement

Look at Mackinnon, Duchene and the rest of Colorado, worst seasons in history. Value of the players has dropped terribly.

Why not play the season till the TDL with the best roster you can field and trade off parts when they aren't in a playoff spot?

I have not liked the Twins Edler or Tanev for years and years (well documented in here) so I am not flip flopping.

I believe you can trade Edler and Tanev get value and pick up two replacements in free agency to shelter younger players.

According to LWL Edler and Gudbranson never played together last season. I wonder if playing with Guds that maybe Edler could show a bit more attacking prowess.

Why not ? The next 4-5 years the Canucks shouldn't be concerned with their cap and Tanev and edler won't be that relevant when the Canucks are ready to be playoff regulars again
