I wasn't trying to insult anyone.....more of a tongue in cheek comment pointing out how dumb of a story it is - sensarmy_11
OH no, not you lol I was referring to the Sens fan that was talking about a rigged lottery yesterday. |

If it's the one I'm thinking of.....he was being an ass hat for sure but I think I remember his rigged lottery comment being a little tongue in cheek too.......kind of a "see I can post dumb poop too" on response to something else dumb that was said. |

Wow man and to think I was beginning to believe you were one of the more level-headed Pens fans...
Bobby Ryan has had more intrusion on his personal life than almost any other athlete in the NHL dating back to before he was even in the O... and you can only find one article from Yahoo and a blog from a random fan detailing he's 'racist'? Ya definitely a douche - tryhard
Hey, that sucks. He had a poopty childhood. I'm well aware and abuse is a terrible thing. But, his child hood, charitable donations, and him liking anti-islam or being insensitive to murders are all things that can be judged on separate events.
Oh Hitler isn't that bad... after he killed all of those Jews, he donated their shoes to German homeless shelters.
And yes. I'm using EXTREME exaggeration in my example. And I understand that dudes had a tough life, but as an athlete or celebrity, you have to understand that everything you do will be put under the microscope. Especially in today's social media age. And in my opinion, what you do off the ice is more of a representation of the kind of human being you are as opposed to what you do on the ice. And I don't believe buying a bunch of suites for kids covers up you being a poopty person elsewhere. And it's not JUST Bobby Ryan that I feel that way. It's anyone. |

Fair enough to all of this, which is why I don't think you can usually get a bead on athletes - they are public figures, who try to put the best face on themselves that they can.
That said, did you have to use a Hitler analogy? No good will come of this

People may be considered 'soft' in your world, but using Hitler and mass genocide as an analogy to Bobby Ryan's Tweet makes you ... an ignorant, hard core a-hole! |

I explained that they were not in the same stratosphere. So no, I'm not ignorant. I never said one is like the other. I used it to explain one good action doesn't cover up a bad one. You obviously missed the point. |

The Ryan thing was blown ridiculously out of proportion by one or two bloggers on a witch hunt. They refer to "lots of tweets" but nobody was ever able to show anything other than the one in the article. He liked one tweet.......maybe not even purposely. I go on trumps Twitter feed all the time because the poop he writes is so ridiculously stupid that it's funny......i have no doubt I've accidentally hit the like button a bunch of times........the same way I accidentally hit the enter button on my phones keyboard when I'm actually trying to hit the P key.
And if he's a Republican who cares.........tom Brady is a friend of Trump and might be the most loved athlete in all of sports.
Hitting "like" on a tweet is not a bad deed and certainly doesn't take away from the plethora of good deeds he's done in ottawa and Anaheim before that. I've met him a few times at Chris Neil's restaurant in Kanata and he's a super nice guy......very engaging, friendly, high fives my son and signed a bunch of autographs. |

That's fine. Honestly, I don't care about any of this lol I'm sure every NHL player has done good things, or been a good guy off the rink in one way or another. The only reason I made the comment was because he said something about Sid, Geno, and Kessel being unlikeable... whereas I named 3 players on the Sens that could be (and are) viewed as unlikeable as well, for various reasons. It was just ironic, and that's what I was pointing out. Every team has unlikeable players on their team. |

Oh, I'm sure ottawa has unlikable players too (I've heard karlsson is a bit of a dbag away from thebrink)......just don't feel like Ryan is one of them. He has an undeserved rep imo |

In terms of unlikeability, personally I have never been a Crosby fan, I think he is a dirty player and as much as everyone says he's grown up, I do still see a ton of whining.
On a personal level, I don't like him because I went to Dunn's and Andrew's hockey school on PEI with him when I was younger and he was a complete jerk to everyone. I also watched him to a burnout down town Charlottetown in his Range Rover a few years ago and I know a girl who went on a date with him and all he talked about the whole time was how he was "Sidney Crosby" and then tried to sleep with her and when she said no, he got up and left, didn't pay the bill and left her to pay and find her own way home.
really Richard moves.
As for Malkin, I actually think he's awesome, he's likeable, funny, amazing player.I really have no clue why people don't talk about him in the category of "best player in the world"
Kessel, i'm iffy on,i've seen him be really funny but i've seen him be a jerk too.
I'm 100% sure Ottawa and every team has players who are unlikeable and have bad reps. it happens everywhere. |

The guy's a moron. Seen a few of his comments here and there on the pens forum and here. Not worth putting your energy into. Showed him an article to argue pens bandwagonning/and how crosby literally saved their franchise (from a pens blog too) after crosby draft. He shrugged it off like articles are a waste of time. Literally posts articles here to prove his point here. His whole fan base suffers from tunnel vision, hypocrisy, and apparently comparing one of the worst tragedies in the world to a hockey player's alleged views . |

Yep, and that was my point. Any other game and this would not have been called but, with Sens up 2-0 in power play the eyes were upon them. Just a stupid effing move by him. He needs to look down and friggin skate and pay attention to the game. |
|
|
|
Absolutely love how the Sens responds to a goal against them. Friggin awesome! I'm probably the only one (outside of Ottawa) that want to see a Sens-Preds match up. 2 similar styles, tons of grit and responsible coverage! Just to great teams (with emphasis on TEAM) duking it out with up and coming heroes. Will be awesome, if it happens. |
