Erm, if you haven't noticed, with the possible exception of Boucher, our group are not exactly 'cocky' at the best of times - sgoodwin[the Pens on the other hand have some of the worst personalities in the game in Malkin, Cindy and Kessel ].
You're right though, we do have a bright future. Remember, when you're the defending Champ, there is no other way to go except down.
Go Sens Go!
C'mon, really???? Worst personalities???? The fact that you called him Cindy just completely losses all validity in anything you say being intelligent....... |

And Penguins are something like 1-7 at home in game 7s, the clash of the unimpressive records |

The Senators have never won a Game 7.
The Penguins have never won a Game 7 at home after losing Game 6 on the road.
One of those streaks ends tonight. |

I don't know how anyone could consider Malkin likeable. Crosby is just an average hockey player, i.e., bland as hell. Kessel I actually like, his early-series bench shenanigans were hilarious
Also I like Fleury for some reason.
The best Canadian Olympian ever (from my home town) goes by the name of Cindy Klassen. I hate Crosby but I hate the implications of calling him 'Cindy' even more... |

How does Bobby Ryan have a bad personality?
I mean, maybe he looks disinterested at times, but have you ever heard him interviewed? Jesus, he is like the most likeable guy on the team off-ice |

I think if you saw some of Malkin's off ice shenanigans, you would like him. Dude is actually really funny in interviews/locker room type stuff. |

So a system built around puck moving defensemen that exit the zone by clean breakout passes or skating the puck out of the zone on their own, missing two of their top 4D this season. One being a top 10 Dman in the league, the other finishing 7th in the NHL in scoring among Dman. Yeah there defense isn't anything special. If you actually paid attention to the Penguins, you would know how much they've struggled to exit the zones, and how often they are outshot by the opposition.
When Letang went down, they went from a team that owned the puck, and the shot attempts to a team that traded chances, forcing defensemen to play above their expected role.. then Schultz goes down, and that defensive corp is left in shambles. When Ian (frank)ing Cole is your "top" defenseman after your top 2 go down... yeah your team is going to struggle.
Forwards don't mean poop if they can't do anything because their defensemen can't get them the puck. Which was the problem the 1st 2 rounds and the Pens were lucky to get out of those rounds. They won the cup last year because they had capable puck movers. This year? they aren't exactly there. - j.boyd919 Meh, take out Sid and Malkin and you guys are likely gone way earlier.Your defense isnt what has gotten you cups is all what i have been saying .The forwards have owned the pucks and the boards this entire series. And reme, ber you cant score if you dont have the puck

Time to dig deep
This is what they play for
Every player dreams of playing in big Game 7 like this
Stick to the game plan
Carpe Diem
Do or Die
Go Big or Go Home
Nothing comes easy in this league
Bring your "A" game
Defense wins championships
Do the little things right and the rest will come
Blood, sweat, and tears boys
You snooze, you lose
Take one for the team
We're all in this together
Manage your emotions
It's a mental game
Work to your strengths
Get into the dirty areas
Put pucks on net and good things will happen
Time to give 110%
Go Sens Go!!! |

Yeah, for sure. It seems like a lot of players do a lot of stuff like that. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate it, I just don't find him that interesting (off-ice) for better or for worse. Maybe I'd like him better if he wasn't shoved down our throats here in Canada so much.
It's funny how good works only work in favour for some players, the Sedins and P.K. Subban do more than anyone, and a lot of people seem to dislike them for some reason... |

No doubt Crosby is a female dog on the ice.......but he's a great great person off the ice. I live in Halifax and the stuff he does in the community here is pretty spectacular.
Now marchand on the other hand, who's also from here, is actually a bigger ass hat off the ice than he is on the ice |

Malkin is one of the best quotes in hockey right now. He also is very funny and likable. The fact that you think Crosby is average shows your true ignorance to all things hockey. Whether on the ice (he's the best player on the planet) or off the ice (does a lot for kids, in Pittsburgh and anywhere he goes), Crosby is a great ambassador for the game, and gets a bad rep because he is forced on the masses by the NHL. |

"True ignorance on all things hockey"
No need to get all up on me because I don't read Penguins PR releases religiously. I don't think knowing the level of donations made by a given player is what determines 'hockey knowledge'.
Also, lots of players do good works in the community - that doesn't mean I have to think they have a sparkling personality |

They listed neil as a bad personality despite the fact that he probably does more charitable work in the community then all but a handful of NHLers........so who knows |

he also has a bad rep for complaining to refs early in his career. |
