such a bargain.

I have good news though...

Bernier is STILL not our starting goaltender!

He should be able to win games at a $250,000 rate.

After a bit of googling it appears Boyd Gordon used to date Kaitlyn Bristowe. I gained a bit of respect for him

again.. not good with the math, but I'm pretty sure that's going to leave us one or two wins short of the playoffs.

8 wins plus 74 shootout losses gives us 90 points...so yeah a bit short of the playoffs

I'd like to know (for my own wild curiosity) who advocated for the re-signing of Neuvirth, and if their first name is Dave.

I think it was a natural progression.

They weren't in a position (nor did they want to be expending assets on that) to pick up a goalie to expose in the draft during the trade deadline.

They obviously talked to Mason and, just gleaning from his post season comments, he wasn't signing here for the term and dollars they were offering nor was he interested in the situation of dueling goalies.

I'm not sure they wanted to sign either one.

Neuvirth was cheaper and got an extra year for himself. Not the best option or the option they were hoping for but under the circumstances acceptable.

They had no interest in exposing Stolarz at this point in his career.

There already have been and will continue to be goalies moving in trades, including some from out of Vegas I would bet.

They've left a lot of options open. Let's hope whatever plan they have formulated makes us happier than the current Neuvirth/Stolarz tandem we're currently eyeing up for next season's run to the Cup.

All just my opinion of course.

If Chris Vandevelde is signed then ya boy Hakstol definitely has Hextall's ear in terms of who gets signed.

Otherwise I don't think Hak had much to do with Neuvirth signing, if anything.

Also anyone else reading that the Crosby concussions have been a false flag event? Kimdotcom reporting inside info with Crosby's doctor. Highly classified info.

I dont think they go with Neuvirth/Stolarz either although I think I would have liked to see a more solid #1, with Stolarz getting 20 or so games.

More I see it now, think BigE's idea of Miller as a stopgap would be okay.

My problem wasn't so much signing Neuvirth. It was their choosing to sign him over Mason who I feel is the clearly better and more durable player.

Do we know in the area of what Mason is looking for, that could have been an issue.

Could truly be it. There is nothing really stopping teams like Calgary, Vancouver or Vegas for making a big pitch to him. He's a deece goalie.

They flat out said they did not talk to Mason about an extension before signing Neuvirth

So you believe they had zero conversations with Mason? They just decided to let him walk and didn't once talk to him in the last year.

I can't believe that. That would be too stupid and I don't think they're that dumb. Maybe they didn't discuss a contract with all the numbers and years laid out but they had to have done some poking and prodding since last July 1st don't you think?

Exploratory conversations and contract negotiations can be two different things.

Hakstol and Neuvirth are best buds. Hakstol's wife and Neuvirth's girlfriend go out and do lunch all the time. They have each other over for dinner and a movie and also go out on the town together as couples. Hakstol doesn't really care how well the team does as a coach he just wants all his best buddies to remain on the team!

I think it's either that or sometimes where a player stands and what his intentions are and vice versa with the team can be transmitted in indirect ways. Although I'm sure that the information that there have been no formal contract talks with Mason is accurate, I don't think that means that there haven't been other communications going on.
