If they did that would be more impressive than last years win.
90% of their roster seems injured - AdamFrench
Eventually, their injuries will be to much to overcome.

Preds missing their top-2 centremen. Ottawa will never have a better chance. |

I honestly thought that games 4 and 5 were going to be those games (wrong!), and Pittsburgh won. I feel like they should have won last night. They still get one more chance at home on Thursday night.

Leafs should target Del Zotto as a UFA D this summer.
Then trade JVR (+) to Anaheim for either Manson, Vatanen Montour or Theodore. Add additional assets if needed and/or eat a poopty contract depending on the player/package.
Dumba, Ellis or Ekholm are other D I'd love to target.
Adding two of the D above to Rielly, Z, and Gardiner would be huge... And I think it's possible. - As_I_See_It
We also signed Borgman and Rosen |

I think the Subban vs Karlsson story would be much better than trying to manufacture something between Crosby vs. Umm.... Mike Fisher?
Crosby's ability to score going up against Fisher and his inability to score at all, even like 2 points, just doesn't seem that enticing. |

The centre thing is pretty lame regardless
Crosby
Malkin
or
Turris
Brassard
vs
Jarnkrok

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that trading an immense but still developing talent like Nylander violates virtually every tenet of the philosophy upon which the Shanaplan stands.
The Leafs need D, but overpaying for someone else's defensemen isnt the way to fill that need. - Doc_Sarcasm

The change to Matt Murray worked out really well, but they are still really weak on the back end.
But a roster with guys named, Scott Wilson, Carter Rowney, Josh Archibald shouldn't get very far.. Geez, frikin Ron Hainsey is playing close to 20 minutes a night too |

Adding D without breaking the bank (trading from our core) is the way to go, like you said if Lou can add two of the above this team should be in great shape to make some noise post-season without serious injuries |

Yes, but what is the situation for these two?
Are they challenging for a spot on the Leafs or are they heading to the Marlies with the assumption that Dermott and/or Nielsen come be ready to make the jump? |

I've given up on telling myself that they're going to lose. I'll believe it when I see it. There's a part of me that is still in shock and awe that they won last year. I've heard of the really great players making the guys around them better... but this is beyond ridiculous. |

think of all the cap space you'd be saving with Lupul on LTIR once again after Lupul shatters his pelvis while taking a dump |

They'll be at camp.
I remember hearing that Borgman could challenge for a spot but can't remember from where.
I hope it wasn't Craig Button. |

Yep, we basically need eight NHL ready D.
Guys like Marincin and Marchenko shouldn't even be in the (frank)ing league. Carrick can also be shipped out as part of a package. |

Ahhh.. I get it..
Maybe some great tending, mixed in with some guys missing their spot when shooting.. Any tender could stop the pucks if they hits him in the crest.. |

Its a small thing, but I think you keep Carrick for depth if nothing else. He's young and may still improve some.
