Pittsburgh and Anaheim both won their previous round game 7s on the same night. The league has to move to alternating game nights so you really can't give both teams equal rest. If both these series had gone 7 seven games the winner of the Nashville-Anaheim would get an extra day off over the Sens-Pittsburgh Series. It's just scheduling. Not saying it can't be a factor but it's not like it was set to put a particular team at a disadvantage.

Then start both series one day later. Ducks playing less than 48 hours after a game 7 win really isn't ideal. It's the breaks. Problem also was the Honda Center was booked for Saturday. Ideal would have been to start the Ducks/Nashville series on Sunday. It is what it is.

Ducks played a very good game, hardly "pooped the bed." Just didn't go their way. Now, admittedly losing Ritchie (stupid penalty) hurt, but the ejection was justified. Bernier had a bad game (we'll never know if Gibson could have made the saves) and Rhinne was their best player.

Paul, I agree on Carlyle. I was surprised he went there in the post game presser. If he wants to complain about playoff scheduling, the time to do it was to the Ducks governor before the next governor's meeting where it could be addressed.

But you're right. Win in less than seven and get some rest. And seriously, playing a team without three key injured players hurt during the playoffs? What should they do there, hold off on the next game 'til everyone is healthy?

And finally, that fighting crap Bieksa started in the last minute? BUSH LEAGUE. There's always an excuse that it's "sending a message." But the only message they sent is that they are petulant children.

Ducks could have won in 4,5, or 6 insuring they had rest - that is on them. Fact of playoffs in any sport - long series winners go in to the next series with less rest and often pay for it. Want rest, win in 4,5,6.

As a BH fan i am used to the complete gonnery that Kessler and Bieksa bring to the table. And yet again they will not see their name on Lord Stanley's Cup. KARMA

Paul, I was a member of the "Save the Predators" group. I might not have done as much as some of the group, but I did spend many hours traveling from Clarksville and attending as many of the "Save the Predators" functions as possible. To think that we have come from the brink of the team not existing in Nashville to this is just a dream come true!

Full disclosure: I haven't had the chance to see the full Carlyle quote, but based off what I am reading:

If teams want more rest in between rounds they could try winning four consecutive games. Otherwise? Too bad, that's the NHL playoffs.

The level of whining about every microscopic inefficiency and tiny issue is absurd. If you want more rest, be a better team and win the series faster.
