Remember when Jimmy Vesey was too good for Nashville - Dan Petriw
Remember when Babcock was a better coach than Laviolette? Me neither. |

Some pertinent information in there - eichiefs9
Some interesting Garth comments from Staple. You would really think he would be gone if the Isles stumble out of the gate and the JT contact is not an issue anymore. |

The best thing Bracken Kearns did was when they interviewed him before the game He said that Joshua Ho Sang was the best prospect he had ever seen in all his years in the AHL. ..... The guy has been in the AHL since 2005. Josh was up shortly after that statement. (I am not saying he is the reason.. but I am sure it didn't hurt). |

We'll see, I guess.
More interested in the tidbits about which route of protecting players they'll go and Kovalchuk, among some other things. |

"the owners heard enough good things and saw enough good things to keep from a major shakeup this offseason."
just curious - what good things the owners heard and saw? maybe I am missing something |

Any sort of Staple not backing Garth 100% and thinking he could be fired if the team gets off to a bad start is huge.
I can understand Staple picking the 4 forwards and 4 D. Kovalchuk I'm not big on unless the Isles strike out with Duchene, Johnson, or Drouin. |

This Garth thing makes no sense to me and would make a great X-Files episode. The Smoking Man is behind this thing. |

I didn't hear that but most guys that should have been top 5 in that draft went right to nhl, he has insane hands and speed |

I agree on hos players to protect and I would take kovy on a 1 year show me deal as long as we didn't have to give up too much to acquire him |

I agree with substituting DeHaan for Nelson. Forwards are easier to replace than d-men.

I'd honestly rather have him for two, but I fear he'll want three. If we sign him to a "show-me" deal and he kills it, we're going to be in a tough spot next offseason, because he'll be demanding a huge raise. |

Good point looking at his goal totals in the nhl 35 is reasonable to me so if he hits that he would get big money. Also jagr took time off to play in khl and said it was less physical so he stayed healthy. I believe Paul Stewart has that on main page. I wouldn't hate 3 years if it was reasonable money |
