not enough jam in my opinion, I'd swap Komarov and JVR
- TheMussel

I was thinking that too but babs loves komo and kadri together.

Maybe trade JVR and give kerby a chance? Seems to have come into his own

The cups filled with grape drink. Falafel, fried chicken, watermelon and tacos for all!

I was thinking the exact same thing except I was going to add bologna sandwiches so it wouldn't be racist.

I think it's a given if they win the cup. No matter how much I think Weber is awesome on the Habs.

I'll just be happy for Subban, never should have been traded.

- Scabeh

Subban fell into a very fortunate situation. Good on him, the fanbase in Nashville, unlike Ottawa - is solid. The crowds look big and right into the games. I wouldn't go so far as saying Nashville won the trade. Anaheim could have easily won that sixth game with even a competent AHL caliber goalie. First shot softies by Bernier are all too familiar to Leafs fans.

the real question for Bernier is if he let anything in from outside the blue line or behind the net.... if not... then you are doing fine.

of course first shot of the game doesn't count.... and nothing that is high.

other than that... he's great!

since JvR is the most likely trade chip... it would be nice to see either Leivo or Rychel get a real chance in JvR's position... .I don't believe Bablord will split Kadri and Komarov up... but it would be interesting to see Kapanen (with his speed) with Kadri and Komarov.

I've been wanting Leivo to get a shot for years....now sadly I've moved on to Rychel.

I wish the Leafs management could get the timing of the prospects worked out a little better.

It's a great problem to have but either some pieces need to get moved while they have some value or they end up rotting in the AHL.

So when I hear people saying keep JVR until TDD, I feel like they aren't paying attention to the log jam behind.

If JVR isn't going to get signed or isn't in the future plan...he needs to move now for help on D.

Then Leivo gets a shot. If he doesn't do well, move in Rychel.

Kapanen
Leivo
Sosh
Rychel
Johnson
Grundstrom
Dermott
Rosen
Bracco
Nelson

These players need to start funneling thru the big club and in that order, IMO.

Ghali-Mandela-Churchill would be a hell of a top line

actually I believe the answer is quite simple... if (and its a big if) JvR were to resign at 5.5 then you go forward with him... which I don't believe is the case... so move him while he has the most value... which would seem to now - ahead of the draft.

between JvR, Bracco, Johnsson and Timashov the Leafs should be able to put a package together that yields a top 4 defenseman - and the expansion draft will help Uncle Lou in this regard.

between Leivo, Rychel, Grundstrom, Kapanen there should be enough to replace JvR's role.

if a deal can't be worked out with Anaheim (for example) then taking Tanev's salary for a guy like Bracco should be doable - balance out with draft picks. (Canucks are in the same downward spiral as the Leafs were immediately after Sundin left... so 2009 2010 time frame... and if they don't want to repeat the same stupidity, then they'll move out any slightly older players that may net a return.
