I don't usually advocate trying to injure players but since Karlsson is already injured it's a bit of a gray area...

Seriously though.... if this is how the league is going to police this stuff then a good solid whack at the "puck" near Karlsson's feet is warranted.... what's the worst case scenario??....... 2 minutes of Ottawa pp time.

At least Ryans hit was during an actual hockey play.... much like Crosbys slash on methot.... Wingels was just plain intent to injure

Luckily Wilson is fine. The Pens will have settle on sending the Sens to the golf course.

I didn't see anything Tom Brady-related there.

Edit: If they could put real, legit current entertainment icons on ice skates and have them beat the piss out of each other, I'd gladly tune in. Just imagine the glory that would be seeing Justin Bieber beating the piss out of Kanye West or Angelina Jolie pulling out all of Taylor Swift's hair.

If Tom Brady took half of the head shots that go uncalled against Roethlisberger, he'd be a vegetable right now.

A vegetable with chiseled good looks and great hair, but a vegetable nonetheless.

I view Scott Wilson’s role similarly to the one that Max Talbot played in the 2009 playoffs. I do believe Wilson’s skill set is better suited for a top six role than “The Superstar”, but he isn’t the first guy you think of when you think of a Malkin winger.
- Ryan_Wilson

This is 100% total horepoop. Max Talbot is better than everyone at everything.

This is true. My brother once wanted to draft Talbot with his first pick in the first round of our fantasy hockey draft one year.

For this league, totally believable.

Honestly thought the Ryan hit on Ruhwedel was worse.

- Tojo.

Ryan's hit was not assault and battery This hit was intentional When out of his way to do it. If you do that in a bar, you go to jail and court hearing is on the agenda

If you throw a legal check on someone at a bar or shoot a frozen rubber disc at someone walking down the street, you also go to jail. Different set of rules because the NHL is a privately-owned company.

Really....If someone in the league hits someone with a stick and kills him what different set of rules takes precedence. I believe he would be arrested and see you in court You are an idiot

You are a liberal so what do you know Trump has done more in 100 days than the bum Obuma did in 8 years. Oh wait Obuma screwed more things up that we will ever be able to straighten out. What a moron All liberals are just listening to the mainstream media and the mainstream media likens to the people who run the NHL. They are both morons

So then tell me why NHL players aren't arrested every time they throw a body check, as that is the definition of assault.

Or why football players don't get arrested for throwing other players violently to the ground

Or why hockey players don't get arrested for fighting

Or why MMA fighters and boxers don't do jail time for fighting.

Edit: Yes, if you commit a felony on the ice, you are subject to the judicial system in the location where the act was committed because the NHL rule book, which you agree to follow when you sign an SPC or ATO, does not have a penalty for dealing with such severe issues. However, this is ridiculous hyperbole per this conversation.

its mind blowing that someone cant appreciate the difference and inherent assumption of risk one undertakes when playing a respective sport given to the legal parameters which govern every day societal life.

You can have a rule infraction which results in a penalty that cannot give way to private legal action because its still within the grounds of what is inherently assumed by playing the game.

then you can have things that are so egregiously outside of the realm of of being plausibly foreseeable.

there is a difference there.

The NHL's governing body, a private entity which players sign a contract to be a part of, have a certain set of rules and repercussions for breaking those rules. About 99.9% of these infractions (guesstimation) are more or less "standard" infractions that the NHL rulebook clearly defines a punishment for.

When a player goes above and beyond these infractions, and maliciously commits a foul that puts the life of another players in jeopardy, such as what Bertuzzi did or what McSorely did, the NHL cannot stop the legal system from intervening.

I mean., no...we just don't get it, we must be dumb liberals.

Stats say take rowney out. I've come to embrace much of the fancy stats but they lose some credibility during playoffs. 82 games comparing season to season. Great. Usefulness in a tourney... very debatable

What exactly has Trump done in 100 days? It's an honest question, because I don't vote and I don't give a poop about politics. But you say he has done so much.. what exactly has he done?

Great example of how analytics tell a large part of the story but not the whole story. It's foolish at this point to ignore them, but sometimes you have to dig a little deeper into why those numbers are what they are to base your decision. None of Rowney's assists were really any different then what he had been doing, his teammates were just able to convert those hard work plays into goals yesterday that were just scoring chances in other games.
