Every time I see someone predict Vegas as a trading partner I ask this: what assets do they have to trade? Do you really think, in their first year of existence, they are going to trade multiple draft picks for Jordan Eberle? McPhee isn't the best GM but I find it hard to believe he'll mortgage some of the future before the team even starts out.

Not only can they trade for who they get in expansion and picks this/next year, they can trade other teams "not to e.draft x player" in order to pick up even more fluid assets.

McPhee can do creative things and Edmonton might want to get 6M off their checkbooks to throw some cash at their new dynamic duo...

As much as I love picks, I think Eberle moves for a less talented but more versatile player- likely from Vegas. They'll need high end skill and a player with a history of scoring to drive interest and Edmonton needs another Swiss army knife sort of player. Jarnkrok, Haula or C. Wilson are the types of guys I imagine/hope they'd look pursue.

That or the Isles decide it's time to move on from Hamonic after a disappointing year and want to replace Okposo.

Let me suggest a P. Zacha between Hall and Eberle would rock. Hall and Eberle would be a great fit with Zajac or Henrique too

If Merrill gets you Eberle you do it! I have to think you guys are front-runners for Shattenkirk anyway, plus there are some decent band-aid dmen available this off-seaosn.

I would say by the article on the devils site that includes moore as one of sheros building block piece adds that have paid immediate dividends.... That Moore is probably staying.

Ik im beating a dead horse with this topic but do you guys think that come combine you could see people seperate nico and nolan? If nolan is so much bigger and stronger so he may have much better combine results. 6'0 170 is tiny compared to 6'2 200. Also I think the combine would give a lot of scouts a better look as to how nolan has healed up and if he really truly is 100%. If he's absolutely 100% come draft day I cant really see passing up on him

I know there was like 2 articles headlining Patrick and none that start with Nico so I thought that was maybe a bit of a tell and what Castron said about Patrick and not being worried at all about his injuries.

The most important part of the combine is the player interviews. They're going to see what kind of people these are and who they'd prefer to install into a core moving forward.

Yea Castron seemed to not care at all about the injuries. Based on what he was saying in that article it looks like he was leaning Patrick.

The Predators best defenseman is 5'10". The two best players left in the playoffs are both 5'11" (Crosby and Karlsson).

Because of cap and the expansion, do you think Shero could pull off two D-stud deals from Anaheim and Wild? Those teams cant afford all their D and expansion they'll lose someone good?

Not saying size is a be all/end all, there are plenty of poopty "big" players in the league, but when you are talking about a player that has a good skill set, speed, etc. adding size is a plus. Look at Zacha 6'3" and McLeod 6'2". Both speedy and skilled, if we can add another 6'2" player with a strong skill set and speed I'm all for it. If the Devils feel Hischier is the more skilled player and take him, I'm not heart broken, but to think size/strength make no difference in a physical league is naive.
