Somehow pulled it off without the grizzled, veteran presence of Shea Weber

My little sister just left for the U.K. Saturday to study abroad and heart stopped as soon as I saw the news. Thankfully a good 4 hours away.

I think they might've been okay. Changes a lot. But was fun at the time. They had to match

sad thing is, its only going to get monumentally worse. these arent even the bad years and its already a net loss.

Yeah I didn't understand those calling it a win for Montreal. At best for them it was a wash this year, but given their ages and expected output, it's certainly not a stretch to think that Subban still has many good years left while Weber is already on downside of his career.

I'm glad to hear everything is alright. It just makes me wonder how many more of these events the West is going to have to endure.

i just cant see how it can be spun in any realistic way to be anything but a horrendous blow to the franchise moving forward

Add to the fact that the trade was a straight swap with no players or picks attached demonstrated that both players were of equal value on the market. Now you add in their ages and years of productivity left and it certainly looks like a win for Nashville beyond this season.

Subban is not the focal point on this Nashville team. He's only asked to do what he's capable to do and he has a defensive partner who can mask a lot of his shortcomings. Weber as a stand alone makes Montreal better than subban did. However with his age decline and supporting cast it'll be a miracle if they ever sniff a final. I call this a win win. Like when la got Richards and carter won the cup but we also netted a solid return. If la didn't have those players they probably don't win the cup but on the flip side they'd probably be a better team today had they kept schenn and simmonds. World goes round. Each team got what they wanted.

Thank you, It's just terrible. Truly heartbreaking. You have x amount of fans (assuming most are younger girls / kids) attending just a typical concert to see someone you love and you're blinded side by this. The scariest part of it all this could have happened at any concert for any famous musicians. Call me paranoid all you want, but I refused to go to NYC or even in center city this past NYE because of recent events like this. You just never know

I find myself still looking in crowds for things that just don't look right. I used to go to NYC 2 or 3 times a year to walk the city now if I go 1 time it's enough. I hate being on edge while walking around.

Having just been at the MMR show Saturday this is not fun news to wake up to this morning. P!nk on the beach in AC is going to be a scary day.

You're still more likely to die in a car accident on the way to AC. I get it, because it isn't like someone is out there trying to kill you on the highway. We are very lucky to live in the US where terrorism is not as big of a threat as it is in many European countries.

Yeah it's just not enjoyable walking around with those thoughts in your head. The anxiety is real, and it beyond takes away from enjoying the moment. I won't lie, P!nk on the beach sounds like a hell of a time.

Bullpoop, I don't post much (if at all) on weekends, AND I was recently banned. So no, you're a liar, it's not every day.

The way I view it is that, if something happens, there's no way that you can really stop it. Sure, you can be observant, but it's not like a terrorist is going to announce exactly what he's going to do before he does it. So you have 2 options:

1. Go about your life as you would and just understand that if something happens, it happens. As YL said, you're more likely to die in a car accident en route to the event.

2. Live in a bubble and stop enjoying life out of fear (which is what terrorists want).

I choose the former. I try to be safe and vigilant about it, but I'm not going to stop enjoying life because there's an extremely small chance that some brainwashed zealot may do something horrific.

It's how I tend to be but the more people in an area the more likely some poopty thing is going to happen. As I said I don't stop doing things I'm just a little more choosy with what I do. Having two bad knees doesn't make being in large crowds fun either.

I don't doubt the chances are slimmer than a being killed in a car accident on the way there. I've had that comparison done with many things I do in life.

Very true about not being able to control the outcome of whatever plan. I think you said it best in your final part. Be safe and vigilant about it. I mean I'm not 24/7 expecting something to happen anytime I'm out and about, and when you're out an enjoying the moment obviously these thoughts are in the very back of your head. I guess I meant more becoming slightly selective for plans when it comes to big days / holidays where those chances could be increased.

Nashville will have interesting expansion draft decisions to make

6 forwards and 4 defensemen that would probably get protected on basically any team in the NHL

Flyers are probably going to have a major D problem in the next expansion
