And look at how few years they all got. That's organizational impatience if I've ever seen it

If you did the same for most other NHL teams, even the successful ones, I think you'll find similar terms.

If anything I think it shows how short windows are for teams to be contenders.

If Hak coaches 4 full seasons with the Flyers, he'll tie Keenan for 2nd most seasons coached in club history. I'm guessing most NHL coaches rent homes rather than buy.

If they miss the playoffs again, is Varsity out?

I've always admitted that I liked Luke Schenn and Nicholas Grossmann, this is no secret. It doesn't mean I agree with going against Laviolette's system just because you like players who clearly do not fit in. Giroux probably would be a better player if we still had a JvR. Firing Laviolette was such a stupid move and even though I liked Schenn for example, I didn't want him at the cost of a clear front line winger.

Asking Laviolette to "tweet" his system was the first mistake. The NHL wants more goals.

I don't know what that is, but I think that Bradlees Caldor of the Wetaskiwin Woolworths of the KONAAHL (Kind of Northern Alberta Amateur Hockey League) would be a great pick-up in the 6th round.

Maybe. It depends on how they miss the playoffs.

Is Giroux or Couturier missing for a majority of the season?

Do you fire the guy because key pieces are missing for extended periods of time?

I felt like, from my extensive YouTube scouting, that Kohl Macy was a much better player in a watered down league.

No hearing for Wingels.

If I'm a Pittsburgh player, I'm throwing a hard, blatant elbow and Hoffman first chance I get tomorrow. It's obviously not a play that can be penalized.

He was 19 when drafted, so the same signing time-frame applied. He did play an over-age season.

Looking at who was chosen after him, except for Anthony Duclair nobody really sticks out to make it such a terrible pick other than the possibility he would have been available much later.

In the Metropolitan, it's hard to make the playoffs even with an established coach. There still aways from Washington and Pittsburgh. Maybe not quite up there with the Rags. Best bet is a wild card.

With that said, if Hextall doesn't feel Hakstol is getting the most out of this team, yeah I can see him getting sacked.

That Guentzel guy who was leading the playoffs in goals last time I checked was drafted after Gouldbourne. Penguins got lucky again.

Buchnevich, Duclair, Guentzel, Bjorkstrand........all right after. So idk about that.

It was a terrible pick without even using unfair hindsight to say, "Should have identified this gem!" You shouldn't judge a pick with hindsight. He was a dime a dozen re-entry with zero upside. The type you stay away from. Worst of all, the Flyers had Bjorkstrand ahead of Ghoul on their own internal rankings.......by a mile. They ranked Bjorkstrand 51, Ghoul in the 70s......at 72 still chose Ghoul. That is a strategical (frank) up and nonsensical, to say nothing of how they viewed Ghoul to begin with. No hindsight there. Bjorkstrand is looking like a good one. Forget Duclair and the rest.

You can't fault the flyers at the time. It was clear they were infatuated with Rinaldo and wanted to load up on more. Thus Z2 was born and a bizarre number of unforseen and unimaginable circumstances led to Rinaldo being out of the league. Flyers have the worst luck

Laviolette had to go. That doesn't answer the question.
