Championship round, decided by a shootout......
and they wonder why no-one watches international hockey. - Crazybagoham
Tough to watch for sure. Little to no hitting and the shootout is so F**cking dumb it makes me sick. Hopefully Edler's stock has gone way up and we can limit his country club access... |

We'd have to take some salary back and retain some too. He just spent a month with stralman and Hedman, maybe that would be a selling point? |

i like the idea of trading with Dallas.
Klinberg and Edler would be a good tandem.
Yzerman is too clever to trade with imo.
Nil seems like a bit of an easier mark based on his past moves. |

I get the attraction for the player, just not sure TBL wants what we got to sell.
I thought they had a bunch of good young RFAs to sign.
Unless we're taking Coburn and/or Callahan back. |

They missed the playoffs. They have lots of good young players but they are missing pieces. Edler for their first and Garrison Hold 50% of Edlers salary. It gives them 2.1 more cap space |

i think Stevie Y could do better than that.
He'll find a way and fleece a GM.
Just don't want it to be GMJB |

Aha.
Always knew you were secretly Jim Benning.
Busted.
But seriously, that is a very complicated and unlikely trade scenario. |

TB get a top 3 Dman for 2.5 mil for two years and 2 mil in cap space. They have tons of young players.
Horrible deal for them just horrible |

I don't hold your high opinion of Stevie Y. He franks up all the time just like every GM |

Nope. When you are a career-athlete, you can basically eat as much of whatever you want and you're not going to get fat (since you are burning so many calories a day). He got fat by not working out or playing hockey - combined with eating way too much. The Bryant Reeves Summer Special (on a side note, what the hell is it with this city and allowing our athletes to do whatever the hell they want during the summer and come to camp completely unprepared physically - other cities don't put up with this poop).
Also, people really need to go and look at his stats. He's never been particularly good - at any point throughout his entire career. All he's ever had over a decade of hockey is one and a half OK seasons in junior. Just OK. Everywhere else, he's been irrelevant. We threw away an extremely high pick on him. One of the worst picks our team has ever made. There is very little chance that he turns it around. Very little. 20 year olds who have never been a good player - don't magically turn into dominant NHL'ers very often. We picked him because he was big and local (with upside). Not because he was actually good. This damn team almost never selects the best player available, we always do ridiculous crap like this... - stringerbell
Wrong, every coach through minor hockey has said he has unbelievable talent, in junior he just used his strength to succeed now hes learning the finer points, when drafted he would be a project that was well documented, but like JB said he is a rarity with strength speed and has a great shot just needs to mature some take longer than others. |

Windsor kicking Seattles ass. 7-1 - VANTEL
Just watched the game. I liked what Luke Boka of Windsor did. Not the biggest guy but i'd sure take him in rounds 5-7.
Jarret Tyzska D on Seattle, had a "thing" for him for a while until I saw that game. Maybe as a 7th rounder if Van trades for the last pick in the draft. Didn't sign Tate Olson doubt they would be signing him. |

Guess we still got plenty of time fo find out about draft. Are there any free agents JB can sign among them juniors left playing? Seems the NCAA and European ship has sailed. |

Still Alex Kerfoot for NCAA FA.
Darren Raddysh for CHL FA.
Only two "bigger" names I can think of. Van is still in on both as for every other team in the league i'm sure.
Capfriendly has moved onto next season. I think contracts end june 1st though. 33/50 contracts with probably 7-10 players to sign. If van was to get those 2 it would be awesome.
Haven't heard anything from about Euro free agents. They all seem to be going to Toronto anyways. |
