Again, lol at those saying Pens were done after game 3. Here comes another Stanley Cup. Lead pipe lock.

I really feel like a healthy Nashville team beats them. As good as the Penguins are, they look beatable

the absence of letang makes them an entirely different team.

nashvilles depth up front is underrated, and their proficiency in the back is well known and deserved. rinne is also playing really well.

i do wonder if they will have difficulty closing out anaheim without johannson though.

Hey guys thanks for the responses in the last blog, some great thoughts and on a side note, I think that your in good hands with Hextall he's been around some capable people mike futa for one ,and knows to draft for team needs for the most part, and agree with most of you that he won't blow his wad on free agency, and best of luck at the draft and offseason

How long was he in philly? 3 years? 4 years? And Homer completely changed the entire team in that time. To me the Flyers fired the wrong guy. Homer hired a coach well known for coaching a specific style of play and then proceeded to undermine him by building a team unsuited for this style of play.

Unfortunately there isn't a one stop shop and an unlimited supply of the right type of players available. When that is the case it is the coaches job to adjust to the type of players on the team. Laviolette refused to do that and it was time for him to go. It was the right move.

We mention laveliotte handling of the goalies as one of the reasons for his exit. Well why isn't hasktol piss poor management of goalies not him exiting? It's also homer job not to over react. He did. And thus nryzgalov happened. And he wasn't patient with guys like Bob. Firing lavy with your only option as berube was poor judgement again from another over reaction from upper management. If you were going to fire him it should of been during a time when we had a shot at a real coach. We haven't had one since.

Holmgren was mandated by the team owner to fix the goaltending and bring in a veteran. Labeling moves such as bringing in Berube as poor judgement is an overreaction.

I agree. However, it's very likely that Lavi's handling of the goalies in 2011 was what led to Snider demanding a "legit #1" goalie, or whatever yo want to call it.

I also agree with the OP that, if Lavi was on such a short leash, they should have let him go during the offseason instead of scrambling at the last minute. Whether or not Berube was the best candidate isn't worth debating at this point, but if the ove had been made early in the off-season, there would have been more candidates to choose from.

I agree. I wanted him removed in the off season. Letting him start the season was a mistake.
