Its a 7 game series. I dont buy it. Theyre a close match but the Ducks were the better regular season team, dispatched the Flames in an easy 4 games and beat us head to head in the playoffs.
Explain to me how and why the Oilers are at this point in time, better than the Ducks.
And please...blaming the refs, is for crybabies, Homers and Flames fans. - Larsson_fan
They did beat us, but you can't ignore the goalie interference calls completely.
That being said, there were long periods where they carried the play on us. The Oilers showed flashes during the series and those flashes were magnificent. Spans where they didn't just control the play they absolutely dominated. As the series wore on though, the lack of experience glared worst when they had leads and couldn't close the deal. Like many said, this year was a learning experience. Hate Getzlaf, Perry and Kesler if you will (and I do), they know what to do in playoff games.
I am reasonably confident though that going forward, they will eventually become the Oilers female dog, like the rest of the Pacific. |

100% Bubba....you are the real.
My point is that had the Oilers been as good as we hoped they were, the poor refereeing ( and yeah, it was poor) wouldnt have mattered. They would have won in spite of it. |

1) Kesler was on top of Talbot. That goal being counted (which was beyond retarded... Actually, the dumbest call I have ever seen) cost us the series.
2) If you want to bring up past performances, we beat them in the regular season series.

How about none of that would have mattered if the refs never made one of the worst calls in NHL history, forcing a game which shouldn't have been necessary in the first place? |

Oh (frank) off. Fans from every team in the NHL (except Anaheim) have agreed with what I'm saying.
If you defend that call, you're an idiot. |

You're blaming the Oilers for losing the series... Minus one of the WORST calls in NHL history, the Oilers had that series won... Actually, you could say they were screwed in games 4 and 5, something that fans from literally every team in the NHL (again, minus Anaheim) have agreed with.
But whatever. |

Fixing the game was really the only way Larsson could be defeated. |

I dont disagree....Im just saying if the Oilers were better some bad calls wouldnt matter, cuz they would have a 2 goal lead not a tie game. Good teams get (frank)ed. Great teams over come it. |

Lord Larsson could have changed the outcome (I'm sure), but he had something else in store... As of this moment, I'm not sure what that is, but we will find out within the coming years I'm sure. |

I don't mind a penalty here or there being called incorrectly, but when a guy is doing what Kesler did, and they review it for about a minute... It's retarded.
What's done is done, but everyone knows it should have been the Preds and Oilers.
And people will say the Ducks outplayed them... For the majority of the series they did, but Talbot is a part of the team as well... |

It was a bad call. No question.
But the only reason they were even in it was Talbot. He was one of the leading Conn Smythe guys before they were eliminated. The oilers were outplayed badly most of both series. |

When one says "the better team won" they usually refer only to that series in particular not what happened in previous series or the regular season.
The refs were absolutely a huge factor in the Ducks winning that series. We had two evenly matched teams but the Ducks had the calls go their way and we didn't that was the difference. |

Lol.... seriously it's pure fact that the NHL (frank)ed up big time and that call decided the game.
Regardless you do have a point they shouldn't have blown the lead at that point and they shouldn't have blew the overtime. |
