You're actually quite right when I think about it. Without them around stirring things up this thread usually dissolves into a longcat of wrestling memes. |

Side note- where's my boy iggy after his thoughts that there's no way pakarinen would sign to allow us to protect letestu?
He actually chirped young jb hard for that idea...
You're not alone ole boy, if I had to think back to some of my missed predictions/thoughts over the years, id probably quit posting |

I once predicted Dumba would go 1st overall the year they drafted Yak.
God I wish I had been right. |

Thing is, while the prediction was kinda silly for the most part, wedve been better off no doubt
(I wanted Murray badly, and it still pisses me off kinda)
But I've got a bunch that not only didn't happen, but woulda been pretty disastrous.
Nichushkin over nurse or risto.
Joe colborne for a first is another.

I remember way back at the 2009 draft when I had only recently started really watching hockey that I was crushed when Scott "1-NHL-game-played" Glennie didn't fall to the Oil. Next on my list was Peter Holland (then Calvin DeHaan).
Since then, most of my awful mistakes came in the form of trades that I wanted. I remember being STAUNCHLY against the rumored Eberle and Hemsky for Boston's #2 pick in 2010 deal. My favourite prospect and my favourite player for some unproven teenager? Bah! |

He stumbled upon the dark web section of HockeyBuzz, and discovered things that he should never have seen. |

one would have to assume hall and seguin = no connor later on. Still possible I guess as our defence was still in tatters, But yeah, that's two elite talents.
It's tough looking at the enormous miss yakupov was. Even the miss of a "superstar" in nuge.
But everything led to Connor and we should thank Allah because of it.
On a side note, even 2013 was a semi miss. Still believe it's possible nurse becomes a top pair guy, and love that he can carry the puck. but yeah , ristolainen> nurse
Also, there's a good chance we take Larsson instead of nuge if we already had seguin |

Such great times... We have McDavid (best forward in the league today), Draisaitl (the German Gretzky), and Lord Larsson (the greatest defensemen of all time). Next year, hopefully the refs don't (frank) us again.

Meh .
hindsight. Besides, I don't think there's a combination of 5 players from those draft years s available to us that make us THAT much better today.
