Like his skill. Not sure about the hockey sense. He's another guy that tries to dangle everyone and anyone, and I'm not sure he plays a pro game on/off puck.
Heponiemi is a guy for example I don't have these concerns about whatsoever. He's just barely 150 lbs and is so physically outmatched. Hence the long-term potential risk/reward. - Mononoke
Hepo is right there with Yams for me. Imagine getting both of them |

I think Yamamoto is faster, more elusive in tight, more dynamic, more creative, and despite his height (not like Heponiemi isn't undersized in height too, not to mention the weight which is more the issue), is a more pro style player. Yamamoto is even more physical and thrives off it and loves going to the net. "Size" feels like something you are obligated to say concerns you with Yamamoto, but Heponiemi's worries me more when watching him. Like Yamamoto's floor and ceiling better.
I like Heponiemi and have him in the low-mid 40s on my board. I love Yamamoto and have him in the top half of the 1st on merit. Very likely neither goes that high, but I don't care where they go; that's my opinion of them. I'd be over the moon if we got Yamamoto with our second pick somehow. If we end up with Patrick, which seems to be the scuttlebutt, then we could have a chance at our own Monahan-Gaudreau combo. |

No I totally see what you're saying. Yams is definitely more "dynamic" which creates the separation between being a 1st/2nd round pick as opposed to Hepo being slated as a 2nd/3rd round pick. Yams is absolutely closer to making any sort of impact whatsoever |

So far the team that has scored first has lost most of the games in this series. Go Preds! |

I'm a Flyer through and through but I'll call them out when they've screwed up. Peter Laviolette is one of the top five coaches we had in our history. Total mistake firing him. Where Luke Schenn now? Or Nicolas Grossmann or the Philadelphia Flyers awhile? We should have trusted him. His resume before, during and after us speaks for itself. Bad move. |

Lavy was the right man for the job in 2009-10. He did well overall but he ran his course here. All coaches have a shelf life, and his was up.
For all the good things he did as coach, Lavy's handling of the goaltending rotation in the 2011 playoffs -- something he later admitted was a mistake -- set the whole Bryzgalov acquisition in motion. The Flyers should have let him go after the 2012-13 lockout season, mostly because he didn't have the right personnel anymore and was half-hearted about making adjustments. Rather than bringing him back on a short leash and then letting him go after a terrible preseason and three games into the next season, they should have parted ways months earlier.
As for Grossmann, Lavy loved him during their time together in Philly. Actually, he's pretty big on shot blocking by his D (which was a bone of contention between Bryzgalov and Laviolette). |

I agree. It's a shame they never really gave Lavi a decent D core to work with. His high risk style of play demands it. I hated that it didn't work out. Yeah, he never adjusted towards the end to work with the pieces he had... but let's be real, he was working with absolute garbage on the blue line.
If he ever somehow became available again I would not hesitate to bring him back. Hell of a coach. Probably my favorite coach in the league right now if I'm being totally honest. |

He tends to burn out teams quickly.
I thought the team had quit on Lavy before they traded
Richards and Carter. I was living in Raleigh at the time and had commented to a friend on the fact that the coach goes because you can't fire the team. Then the Flyers fired the team. (trades)
I wasn't happy at the time, but I think it worked out well for the Flyers in the long run.
Lavy was done here though. |

Pronger Timmonen Carle Coburn at the time was one of the better defenses in the nhl. It's better than anything we've had in a long time. Pronger and timmonen are hall of famers in my book. Coburn at the time was a 2/3 defenseman. |
