Exposing Panik wouldn't be the worst thing....if Vegas also takes Kruger they can at least be Cap compliant. Also, if 15 is traded before the Expansion Draft then they could hypothetically protect 4D
- EnzoD

Possibly. But I would expect the Hawks to go with the 7/3/1 approach and make a side deal to try to protect TvR.

I still think Pittsburgh will beat Ottawa, but if it is Ottawa vs Nashville, oh man, that'll really suck.

The neutral zone trap is nauseating. Literally 9 minutes and not a single scoring chance at either end.
- EnzoD

Whatever it takes to win a cup ,hard to blame them . Kesler beat on all the important draws .And Gutless Ducks start trying to fight when up 6 /4 ...Preds Win

As usual Ducks start crap. Perry we know about. Now this new goon Nick Ritchie, who sucker punched Rozsival takes on Ekholm.

I'm sorry fellow Hawks fans, can't pull for the Dirty Ducks.

A post or 2 ago, someone mentioned that Rocky was one of the owners who voted for a salary cap. I would like to know if this statement is accurate or not (how did Rocky vote)? I can't see it being successful to play at the cap and not go deep in the playoffs.

yet another no call against NASH for Rinne playing the puck in the no touch area
- PatShart

Just got home from a wedding and caught up on highlights as I promised my wife the phone would stay put away...

Your 100% correct. Rinne even looks back at the ref to see if his arm was up - HE KNEW.

I remember the HAWKS catching a huge break on the same call on the way to a cup , against the Preds I believe .Another Mickey Mouse gimmick rule, thanks to the great Bettman ..

Just read Getzlaf fined for inappropriate slur at ref (homophobic). Hmmmmm Shaw suspended and fined for similar conduct in the playoffs. WTF Just be consistent. Why wasn't Getzlaf suspended?

He is an A level star, Shaw was a B level star. had it been a 4th liner, 3 games would be in order.

I guess a derogatory word used to besmirch a person is 5K and a game, where a word to describe a sexual act that both sexes may perform or he his self has performed is 10K. What if he shouts out his relationship with his mother or being an illegitimate child, are those equally as offensive. Its clear he enjoys the word F*ck as well. Does it matter if he uses it as a transitive verb or a noun? Maybe 5 games for the later?

I'm totally fine within brining in Europeans who are looking to make the jump to the NHL, especially if they're talented, but if the Hawks are planning on giving this guy the same treatment they have Kempny this season then it doesn't make much sense.
- TommyHawk

Agreed. If the Hawks start slow and guys like Rosi and Campbell are getting these minutes, Q should be shown the door.

Racism? where? I haven't seen anyone bash a player based on the color of their skin......

As I'm watching these playoffs I'm thinking the NHL is back to the 'garage league' Every Fan of an Eliminated Team referred to it as.

This team would have to fold without one or both of the twins....

Actually, if the cap doesn't increase significantly the next 2-3 years, the 'Hawks may be ping pong ball rooting for a few consecutive springs. The depth to which they have sunk is significant.

- blackhawk24

Yeah, getting the most points in the Western Conference with a roster half full of kids is a terrible depth to sink to.

Totally agree! I agree with Steve also. Some of these people go looking for crap in clean toilet bowls where it don't exist: toughen up people and stick to God dam hockey and don't worry about what a fricken player says .... Or not. Who cares, My concern is ......... What doesBowman have up his sleeve inthe next couple of weeks.

I don't post very often but I certainly do enjoy JJ's insights as well as all the discussion that ensues. I do have a question I am hoping someone can help me with. For players like Crawford and Hammer who have limited NMC clauses, why couldn't Bowman try and make a threeway dea? So, for example, if Crawford submitted a list of 10 teams that do not need a number 1 goalie, why couldn't Bowman try and work a deal where one of those teams takes Crawford for some combination of players/prospects/picks and then that team trades Crawford to another team that does need a #1 goalie in exchange for assets they need? I am pretty sure the team acquiring Crawford is no longer required to honor the NMC as in the case of the Weber for Subban trade where Nashville declined to honor his NMC. Just spit balling here but I, like many here, thought Crawford would get moved. I just don't see Bowman as being very bold when it comes to making trades...

Guess the word with CC is that his list of teams he would OK a trade to, dont need a goalie. Prolly done on purpose to prevent/delay a trade. With the loss of Darling, Hawks now have to keep CC. Or maybe a trade to a team that sends a starting goalie back to us??
