Anyone worried that the Leafs will do nothing bigger than re-signing Justin Holl to a contract?

Nylander has demonstrated that he is borderline hockey dyslexic and is 100% on track to put up a 10 point sophomore campaign. Trade him while his value is high.

Did you see his breakaway goal in the WHC? Can't even stay on his feet while he's scoring.

Seems reasonable.

On an unrelated note, did anyone see that ridiculous goal by #29 for Sweden yesterday? We should sign that (frank)er!!!

On an even more unrelated note, the following people can suck it:

Gull
Iggy
Ahjay
Symba

That is all.

With approx 20 mill coming off the books this summer?

I think there will be more done than that

Quite sure that will indeed be the deal.
Fair value.

Only worry with Manson I have is that he seems to be of a slow skater - Luke Schenn-like (haven't seen too many ANA games though).

- MaximusAurelius

Umm we want to avoid anything "schenn" like.

What to do with Justin Holl shouldn't really matter

That guy has amazing hair, and oh baby what a goal. He would look great on Matthews wing, perhaps even centre his own line one day, but ones things for sure, once we sign him we would never package him in a trade for average Dman.

Nadda, I think Seth is a good Dman.

Who do you think Babs and Lou were watching at the game last night? One player in particular or a few?

I think Ekholm or Manson are probably most realistic targets.

Personally I would love PK on the Leafs.
Hope the Leafs don't go for Fowler, don't think he's the solution for the team.

Why would the Preds deal any of their top-4? Three are on some of the most hilarious deals in the NHL.

In expansion, they protect all four and Johansen, Neal, Forsberg and Arvidsson.

Lose potentially

Fisher (UFA) and will re-sign with them no matter what
Wilson only scored 35 points, decent playoff performer but underachiever in the regular season
Smith coming off his worst ever season
Watson a decent 4th liner
Salomakki another decent 4th liner
Jarnkork a good third liner
Aberg (RFA) Decent prospect, but not an established NHLer

All of those guys are worth losing to protect the bes top-4 in the NHL

I like the thought of adding Manson or Ekholm, the toughest part is adding while keeping our core. I would think the following could be used as bait but teams like Tampa surely will be offering a stronger package with Drouin + 1st, albeit probably for a Trouba or Dumba like player

-JVR
-Carrick
-Kapanen
-Leivo/Leipsic/FWD AHL prospect
-2017 1st/2nd
-Bozak
-Hyman
-Brown (don't want to include him, but no doubt he would come up in discussions)
-Kamarov

I also don't think Preds want to move on from PK (we also aren't in that range unless we talk about moving a core rookie), he has been good these playoffs, very dynamic but also costs a lot cap-wise.

OK.

Hey Frenchman you're wrong! They won't want to lose a 4th liner for nothing and they will be forced to trade Ekholm or Ellis to us for virtually nothing.
